My son (14) met this girl (21) last week. She's been calling him, etc. (Yes, she knew he was 14)

Last nite, Saturday, he asked if she could come over. I said no. At 7:30 he went for a "short" walk. At 11:30 he called, said he was at his dad's house & was going to spend the night there. I heard giggling.

(I'm divorced, dad is out of town)

I go to his dad's house. Girl is there, of course. I drive her home (half-hour away) and tell her that if she contacts my son again I'll call the police. (I DON'T rip her apart with my bare hands, but I wanted to.)

I also call my son's mutual friend who introduced them, and say the same thing: she stays away or else.

Son is grounded for life, or at least until I stop being livid.

ps.s Sorry no pix of girl but I wasn't thinking about a camera at the time.

update: (sunday evening) She's been calling here a lot, 32 calls so far in a day and a half, so I printed out the vonage record and took it to my cop neighbor. So next time she called I told her I'd contacted the police. She hasn't called back since, so far.

Thanks for the comments, gang!!! Interesting thread.

From one parent to another... You did good.

Be sure to threaten your ex-husband with contributing to the deliquincy of a minor, along with re-visiting his custodial rights, if he participates in the future.

best of luck to you....

he is entering his teenage years, he's years of rebellion are just starting....

Not quite sure what kind of advice I can give you. I think everyone goes through that kind of stage.

What did he see in her - are you kidding? She's a breathing, live female. Her in him - I think it was manipulation. Bitch.

i was gonna say, "Let you son pimp on!" but nah. Everyone from a young male's point of view, the age different is too great. I feel just the same about this if the age was swtiched around for either sex.

And what kind of 21 year old tries to get with a 14 year old kid. Pathetic!

21 y/o girl and 14 y/o kid? Either evil or really really really really stupid.

Haha well said.

If I was 14 again and there was a 21 year old calling me all of the time, I'd have one thing on mind. And you know what it is.

You made the right decision, even though I'd be pissed at you if you were my mom. :D

Actually, I'm more pissed off at him going out "for a couple of minutes" and not leaving a note or anything. If he'd made up a plausible story I may not have known a thing.

unfortunately, you won't be able to keep him away from women you disapprove of his entire life.

However, I hope you've taugh him and keep teaching him to make sound decisions.

Sometimes guys need to stop thinking with their penis and start thinking with their brain (I know, it's hard for some).

What did the girl have to say for her self when you were driving her home?

Why didn't she have her own car?

Had they been alone at his father's house, or was the father home?

While I would be telling the girl to stay away and grounding my son just as you did, I couldn't help but be secretly proud my son is such a stud. :p

Good point. How the heck did the girl get to your ex's house if you drove her home and she lived over a half hour away? Bus? Taxi?

I know the kid's probably too young to have the experience to try to run with the situation defensivley... but if I was in a situation with... like a 28 or 29 year old... (I'm an undergrad still, so I think this is a good comparison), I'd explore the whole situation to try to discover any underlying motives, keep my spending in check, stay sober and avoid sex until I have such a handle on the situation that I can be sure it's not going to turn into a runaway train. I'm pretty hard to take advantage of.

Evidently she bummed a ride from someone to go shopping at the mall, which is a short walk away. She shares an apartment, doesn't have a car, is between jobs. She spent the time driving home trying to (a) deny things (b) make excuses (c) tell me her life sucks (d) ask to borrow money (e) lie about where she lived, but I had already driven her home once before (f) blame the mutual friend for ruining her life etc.

Definitely evil. Then again, it wasn't the best time for rational conversation.
And no, dad wasn't home.

I think TheLonelyPhoenix and I can think of more than a few girls we know in common who sound like this.....
