You wouldn't believe the PhD Engineers, back when I used to work at Lockheed and the 10 yrd old POS honda's and VWs they drove. All made over 200K.

Seems they understood mathematics and compound interest rather than a depreciating asset.

One of the partners at my brother's law firm drives an old honda he has had for 15+ years. He just doesnt care about cars so why spend money on something expensive when his honda works perfect?

He does have a nice house and takes quite a few nice trips each year so not like he isnt spending his money. But his money spending priorities just arent towards his car :)

As for car payments.....My next truck payment is due August of 2013 Oo. Silly finance people didnt ask for a down payment so i just took the money i had and applied it right away. $15k was apparently 2 and a half years worth of payments for me :) of course i still pay monthly and still pay more than the minimum payment amount and i always planned to pay more than what the month rate is anyways. I just dont have to worry if i want to skip a month now (which i wont)

The point I was trying to make was that he goes out of his way to ensure everyone knows that he is having sex with a very hot woman and his ex girlfriend is fat.

We get it dude.

Just like you go out of your way to come into my thread(did you have a gun to your head?) and call me a lovely human, then call me a lovely human again, then take yet another shot at me.

Did I run over your dog? Piss in your cheerios? You sure are pissed off, lol.

He certainly is butthurt over something.

Anyway, congrats on paying off your car and welcome back. Now don't fuck up and get your ass permabanned, because we've lost enough interesting members over the past couple of months.

Plopped down $349.65 including taxes for my entire car which is my DD and paid it off in cash.

There was no sticker. Bought it from a private party.

I could have gotten one from a dealer but they all refused to go lower than sticker price so I just said, "well, I'm leaving. Bye."

They're like, "Whatever."

They could tell I was a smart shopper. :awe:

LOL...so full of fail (and shit too).

I had my car paid off for a few years now and it runs fine but is a 2 door. When kid number two comes around I'll have to sell it for a sedan. Seems like such a waste to buy a new car and take on payments again.

Give the kid up for adoption. Problem solved.

Incorrect.

How do you think I pay for my apartment? The parents surely do not.

Grant money you got for your dad being in the military. You've never worked for money in your life. Still can't figure out why you're even in school. You're too lazy to get a job and work.

Without that gov't money, we'd still be seeing threads from you, crying over how your basement room is smaller b/c your parents moved.

You do realize they're all the same people using different accounts, right?

Not having a car payment is so very nice. In 98 I bought a new car and paid it off in 3 years. In 2007 I replaced that car and paid it off in less than a year.

I can't see myself going into debt for anything other than a house at this point. No debt FTW!

The deal is many of the wealthy have 'older' cars, however; almost none are driving beaters. Most bought the cars relatively new and have maintaned them. They still have a nice fit and finish.

It's worlds apart from the dude bragging he picked up a $500 'ride' 'cause he be smart and shit to let his money work for him.

I don't know what not getting a down payment has to do with anything though....the more you finance the better it is for them.

I love not having a car payment. I was able to pay of my vehicle and I'm pushing it until the wheels fall off.
