Not sure. I know sage offers streaming capability, but what I like about Orb is it determines the network link between your host machine and client and automatically transcodes your media on the fly for best performance.Originally posted by: cpals
I already have SageTV... this is pretty much the same functionality that I have already? I know I can type in an ip address and connect to my host machine.
Right after you install it, it does peg the CPU for a while. After a while it should level off though.Originally posted by: Poohbee
I tried it out and noticed it was using 100% cpu almost all the time between all of its components that it installs. Even if you aren't streaming, it is using 100% cpu.. I uninstalled it... Had a bad feeling about the software. maybe it was just the way I installed it?
I'd like to hear back from you on this issue...Originally posted by: Poohbee

You can also stream it to your smartphone.
No adware or spyware, although it does display a small orb banner in WMP when not fullscreen.Originally posted by: ttown

Thanks for the 411 BOC!
Do you have a TV Tuner card, if so which model?
If you want to give it a try, for music and photos, it ran fine on my old AXP 1600+. Video and TV were too jerky and pegged my CPU on the host machine though.Originally posted by: flyingboujanero
Orb System RequirementsTo have the best Orbing experience, your home computer on which you install Orb Media needs the following:
2.4Ghz Intel Pentium* IV processor or equivalent (Note that a slower processor may cause "stuttering" when streaming TV or videos)
Ouch.
Software looks interesting and definitly worth a try, but I can't use it. Thanks though OP
