Given that he's put tariffs on everything from everywhere and you don't grow sugar cane in the USA and he doesn't like trade deficits it seems a bit of a weird policy.
Yes we do grow sugar cane in the USA. I remember getting stalks of sugar cane (in Georgia) when I was a small child from a home press powered by a mule to squeeze the juice out to boil and render into homemade syrup.
