Here we go again, same song and dance:
Can't we leave the attacks from ABT over there and NOT keep up the cross-forum mudslinging?

If AMD is looking into employees who have in fact been breaking the company rules, great, mission accomplished, that's settled.

Nothing good can come of the vitriol being bantered around by the rest of us. If another forum insists on attacking this one in whatever fashion, what better response than to leave it all over there?

Visits are the reason for these sites and I refuse. Don't get mad, just ignore them.

Rant and rave as much as you want, I choose to be elsewhere.
This!

I usually check through several sites each morning to see what's available. The only thing ABT achieved was for me to remove them from my favorites list. Visits are the reason for these sites and I refuse. Don't get mad, just ignore them.

At one point I used to like lurking on their site. They used to be good then.

My apologies. I will refrain from giving him a voice here.

I'm not even sure AMD can "fix" anything. I'm still not even sure there is something to fix, if you get my meaning.

I just need to protect my favorite company 😉

Reading through their history, I saw that some ATF members wrote some decent articles over there. Whatever happened, it sucks, because the quality and variation of the articles lessened.

Sometimes a good article helps a slow work day go by faster.

Nvidia told ABT that they don’t allow their employees to post on tech forums at all

Here you have nvidias social media policy looks like they also encourage there employees to post.

Do: Provide responses in technical forum threads about NVIDIA, when you’re a subject-matter expert, and disclose your relationship to NVIDIA.
Do: Tweet about your part in helping launch new NVIDIA technologies.
Do: Clarify misinformation about NVIDIA within a comment thread.

So much for nvidia member's are not allowed to post.

Hey, how many employees does nVidia have? So you're going to tell me only 1 discloses their affiliation and posts on tech forums?

See what I did there. Now to get myself black listed somewhere and I can expose them!

Really guys?

Reading over the Blog Article - nVidia's response was empty. And someone here said it was against nVidia's Policy for employees to post in forums.

So, I guess now the accusations are going to start flying both ways. Still looking for that new job? 😉

I dont think the one posting here follow those rules anyway, so you can count him out. AMD has atleast one guy here stating his affilation, nvidia zero.

With out trying to instigate anything - makes you think. Hopefully we haven't gotten to the point where the shill-card is okay to use. Since it seems both companies now are pretty much using the same policy.

Question is who enforces it better? Eff it, I'll throw it out there - $5 buck we see no crusade or witch hunt to single out non-AMD employees out. My precious favorite company.

"With out trying to instigate anything"

and then ^ bold

Really? Looks like JUST the opposite if you asked me.

So based on statistics and probability do you think you are the only Nvidia associate who posts here?If not I hope they put something in their sig too.

Irony pokes it's head out - again. If it makes you feel better, my opinions aren't swayed. If someone is being accused of being an nVidia shill - I'd defend them.

We don't need accusations being easily thrown around. But I just wanted to point out how this issue is now even more borked than before.

My commentary on the pic:

1) she's cute. Insert 80/90's ASL joke
2) Definitely looks like a forum on the top right panel.
3) I wonder if she posts here.

/wave Hi! How you doin? 😀

You've been a member here a long time. Show me your posts defending Wreckage, who was constantly accused of being an Nvidia shill. Or Happy Medium, countless others. Where are you Railven? You know what? I'll leave you to whatever it is you're doing. /peace.

Well, this post went downhill. Can we get back to vilifying JFAMD for his lies? 😉

amd vs nv is boring. They're too evenly matched, and everyone knows it.

? I've lurked for years, and only became a member for two years. I once tried to defend wreckage but when he started messing with articles subject I realized he didn't need anyone to defend him. It's almost like he was asking for people to accuse him of that so he can turn around and use that against them.

Even the mod in this thread (and you yourself at ABT) admitted - the guy was a major troll. I'd defend false accusations of people, but that doesn't mean I'll openly defend someone who is essentially trolling.

And I also defended happy medium until he borked his FRAP numbers to discredit the article about canned vs real time benches. He lied and never once tried to make a correction or admitted to it.

Anyone esle you want to accuse me of ignoring? If you openly lie and I see it, I won't defend your lies. Unless that's what you're asking me to do.

Until Intel steps it up or Matrox does something - all we got is AMD vs NV in this subsection.

As an owner of a HD 7970 and co-owner (it's technically mine, but posession is 9/10ths of the law) of a GTX 680 - outside of the price : perf ratio - I got no complaints. I use both cards daily, and outside of my preference for Radeon's, I'd openly recommend both cards to anyone. You aren't really missing much by going with one over the other. I do like GPU Boost though, waiting for an AMD mole to get in there, but with my lock out I won't be buying again until the HD 9xxx series/GTX 8xx series.

Wait, I thought the nvidia group was just a fan thing? Is that incorrect?

So now its a tit for tat. Since random people were called nvidia shills, its fair game to call people AMD shills with no proof. Its all too clear now.

First its "ATF mods harbor AMD shills". NOPE.
Then its "AMD encourages shills to post in private". Wait, their social policy says otherwise. Nope.
Then it was "AMD shills at ATF caused (some other website) to get blacklisted". Nope.

Its becoming all too clear. So me, chimax83, groove, chipoteran, nigelg are all supposedly AMD shills 🙄, this is some type of revenge for other nvidia fans being referred to as shills. So instead of being the bigger man its just revenge and an axe to grind. I get it. Please by all means think what you will even if its not true, whats funny is that this blatant unprofessionalism probably drives more people away from that other site than anything. I certainly would not visit [H], AT, or OCN if they had wacko editors that acted like morons on their respective forums.

It all boils down to revenge and an axe to grind, with a wacko (the managing editor at some other website) at the helm. Its becoming all too clear. I wouldn't go to such extremes. I'd hate to think people are that petty to grand stand on a forum, none the less, to make someone else's forum time worse.

It seems to boil down to now we're all open to speculation of shill-ism. I was told I was being navie if I didn't think AMD employees posted here and pushed their products. Hell, I didn't need a policy to tell me I already thought people were doing that. Now it seems almost all the policies are mirror images and, well, next time you say something favorable about your favorite company - remember, the shill-card is lurking.

Guess the good old days of just being dumb fanboys are over.

I think the real issue here isn't marketing or employees posting.

The issue here is that it never was an issue, until Nvidia went WAY over the line hooking up guys like Keys, Rollo, ect to really take marketing over the line IMO. Before this all happened, there were "free" marketing employees from all sides, and no one noticed- nor cared.

You're never going to get full disclosure, so stop requesting it. Nvidia is in a special status of being criticized for social marketing- because they went way over the top and honestly- The People Spoke.

Nvidia has some nice video cards, but damn- that corporation is DEFINITELY annoying as hell. Like the scab of the industry, due to their overbearing marketing. I'll buy another Nvidia card if they ever release the equivalent that my 5870, or 9700 Pro were in their day. Until then, be damned.

But yeah, I still stand by my comment that the engineers/employees are too busy working all day to post like trolls. They have free mooks do that to show their appreciation for a couple video cards. We need to stop bullshitting around that fact.

Skimmed over the thread! Well, it's cool.

All is cool now. 😀

ABT is awesome. ATF is cool. I don't care who is who. A shill.. well, what's the problem if erm, never mind. 😀

I personally want to buy 2 7850's and overclock them like hell, and do bitcoin mining!

That's what I want to do with one of my rigs.

I'm building a 3rd rig right now.

The 7850's will be for the "middle" rig, still using a 60Hz monitor, since they aren't ideal for 3D anyways. I also hope to have a GTX 680 as soon as it's under $300, for the 65" DLP HDTV that has 0.05ms response time for none of that kind of ghosting. Awesome sheets!

I always loved having a Radeon too, for many many years. I actually miss having one since my HD 4870 1GB.

The 9800 Pro, X800XT All-In-Wonder, X1900XTX, X800, HD 3850, HD 4850, HD 4870 1GB were all wonderful cards, especially the first 4. The 4th one was had for only $35 by the time it was 1.5 year old. The. Best. Deal. Ever. for a 12-pipeline card that was substantially faster than the $350 9800 Pro released only 2 years earlier. $350 down to a $35 card that's maybe 40% faster, only 3.5 years after the 9800 Pro was launched.

I absolutely loved ATi Tray Tools. I actually liked it even better than RivaTuner. The 9800 Pro was the only card that I physically volt-modded. It was also the only card that I physically modified a CPU cooler in order for it to fit. It was also the only card that actually ran wayyy overclocked, with artifacting, and yet still be stable. I overclocked the GPU about 30Mhz higher than what was truly artifact-free, and yet it was always stable, and the artifacts were just a reminder of how highly-clocked my card was, faster, than anything else on the planet.

However, the X800XT probably has to be the best card, the most "awesome" card that I've ever owned. Not because it was faster than the competition in overall gaming, but because it was cool, quiet, and most especially the incredible All-In-Wonder
TV Tuner version with an awesome remote controller included. I liked it even better than I ever liked my damn silly fast 8800GTX'es.

Also, the X1900XTX was the card that I paid the most for, ever. It was sick fast, even faster than the stupidly fast 7800GTX-512MB that was selling for $750-$800 at the time. The HQ Image Quality was prided, and appreciated, along with 6x AA in many games. It basically killed 2 of my PSU's (450 and 500W), though, due to its insane power draw at the time, way surpassing any other card previously launched before it.

All of the cards were modded with different cooling heatsinks/fans in the most interesting ways.

Am I sounding like a hardcore nerd who gets a hard-core enthusiasm about it?
