No one in California has basements. They don't build them out here.

I lived in Chicago for a year, while its a fun city, nothing beats the laid back atmosphere and weather of cali (back in san diego now), there is so much more to do here, and without having to dress like an eskimo too, sure its expensive but its worth it, there are MUCH more jobs here too (at least for CS people).

Northern cal while nice I prefer so cal, San Diego is truly 1 of the finest cities in America,

I grew up in Riverside, it's all right there, it is just too damned expensive now!!!

I moved to Phoenix, AZ, it is only a fraction hotter here than in Cali, and the houses are a fraction of the price too!

We went to Yosemite today,we took a 2 hour tour. My God, what a stunningly beautiful place!
A blue jay almost pooped on my head and we saw 4 mule deer 🙂

BASEMENT :~

What about the earthshakes?

I rode my bike for a couple hours today, went out to lunch with my honey( we ate outside in the :sun😉
I won a few bucks on some scratch tickets, then went home and sat in the sun by the pool tanning and doing my nails🙂

I don't want to return to the east coast...please let me win the super lotto Saturday, then all you easterners will be rid of me🙂

I'm from Boston,so I'm no stranger to high housing costs.I'm just saying that it's beautiful out here, the sun is shining, the humidity is low, there are tons of cool birds and plants, trees here. The people seem cool here, there's nothing not to like.

Why I don't believe in God but if there is a heaven surely it must be California🙂

I had a lovely walk thru a very old mountain wood in the rain wihtout another human being anywhere near me, looking at Mt. St. Helens and pondering my place in the universe. That was after class of course, and before work. So overall it was a very good day.

I'm glad you like it, truly I am, it means less people in the places I like. But suggesting it's 'goodness' is objective instead of subjective is silly. People like different things. What you talk about is HONESTLY some peoples idea of hell on earth, like mine. And I used to live in cali, so yes I can talk.
