For some reason, it's hard to get excited about the Olympics this time around. Maybe it's all the sports scandals. Maybe it's the coverage--how many up close and personals can you stand? Maybe it's the fact that I don't care about most of the winter sports.

No matter. I won't be watching much.

Umm, it's not live for us East coasters, either. The opening ceremonies were over about four hours ago in Italy.

My Fifth grade teacher won the Silver Broom,in 76 or 77?

What is there not to like about the Olympics?Athletes that work there butt off their whole lives and then have to pay their own way(usually) just to get a chance to compete.
 
About Korea coming in the "C" section...

Korea was originally pronounced Corea.

I think it was because when Japan occupied Korea, they renamed it w/ a "K," so they can go ahead of Korea alphabetically... donno about it though, hehe.


I think the unified flag of the koreas suck lol. A blue peninsula? what the.

That has nothing to do with it.

It is because in Italian Korea is spelled starts with a C. This is the italian spelling.

Also Japan didn't change Korea from Corea to Korea that is a myth.
 
the cauldron lighting was interesting. looked real good . NBC was quick to switch to a wide angle shot to give us a great look.

The summer Olympics are all kinds of various real sports. The winter olympics suck. Hockey is about the only interesting sport.

Winter > Summer because, in the Winter games, aside from that thing called curling (broom to victory?), the athletes move faster and jump higher (of course w/ the help of ice, ramps, snow, etc...)

but huge jumps, going super fast is a ton lot more fun to watch.
