Official XX Olympic Winter Games Thread - Medal Count Link Inside...

I think I lost interest in the winter Olympics a couple of olympiads ago when all that was on was figure skating WARMUPS and there was an actual hockey game being played in a little picture in picture window at the top of the screen.

When NBC learns how to cover an olympics I'll probably start paying attention again.

I still remember the ice skate racing with Apollo... Hits the Korean (I think, he was asian). So then next race, Korean hits him back 🙂 Canadian wins a race since he was last place.

Please, God, let Canada win the dual-golds in Hockey again. Well, we have Todd Bertuzzi, so we BETTER win them.

Or else.

Thats pretty much my biggest reason for watching the winter Olympics. Speed skating and skiing competitions are also entertaining.

How could Canada not win at their premier sport? It's like Brazil or UK losing in soccer, or America losing at football. I guess stranger things have happened 😛

Actually in the U.S Womens figure skating is the most watch olympic sport and this includes summer olympics too. Infact outside of the superbowl it is the most watch sporting event.

Actually the World Cup is the most watched sporting event. The super bowl has about 150 million viewers, where the World Cup final in 2002 had over a billion.

Edit: Didn't see in the US, sorry, you're right

Or America losing at basketball... oh wait a minute...

Actually the U.S is the best at every sport. We don't in all of the medals because we don't send our best people to the Olympics. If we wanted to we could win every medal.

Hockey, Curling, skiing, Speed skating, and more!! What's not to like about the Winter Olympics? When I was a kid I eagerly waited for the every fourth year to get my Olympic fix. Sports I never usually watched I watched during the Olympics, because it was the friggin Olympics!! No other sporting event is even worthy of comparison to the Olympics.

I'll be watching. 🙂

It won't be easy for the Canucks to repeat. The Czech squad in particular is SCARY.

Wait, so are you saying you don't follow curling and field hockey?
