I heard that Glen Danzig was originally trying out for the part of Wolverine.

i think the most destructive mutant in both movies is cyclops.

in xmen1, he rip off the roof of the railway station.

in x2, his optic rays wreck the whole dam when jean deflects.
so, in a way, cyclops' da man who "killed" jean eh?

perhaps the director is compensating cyclops' lack of screen time by showing off his awesome rays~?

:D

Hugh Jackman replaced Dougray Scott.

THANK GOD!!!

I didnt like Jackman in the first movie. He was a bit too skinny, but this one he was perfect... :)

I wish there was some way to bring back the Kelly Hu character. She is just so hot! I've always been attracted to her since I saw her in Martial Law.

Am I the only one who thought wolvie had a more accurate "attitude" in the first movie? At least in the first half of X1, he was the wolverine i remember: gruff, anti-social, anti-authority, the lone wolf, and the guy who doesnt take crap from NO ONE. Yeah, hugh jackman was a bit tall, but he portrayed the attitude pretty well. The short-man complex, the lone wolf syndrome, the witty, cocky SOB, the "i'm the best there is at what i do" attitude.

i.e. ...
Wolverine: Sabertooth? [looks at Storm] Storm. [looks at Xavier] What do they call you? "Wheels"? This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
-----------------------------------
Wolverine: Get out.
Rogue: Where am I supposed to go?
Wolverine: I don't know.
Rogue: You don't know, or you don't care?
Wolverine: Pick one.

He seemed wittier, tougher, and more sarcastic in the first one. As someone else pointed out, he was too "civilized" in X2.

Yeah, I thought he acted more in character in the first movie. In the first movie I remember thinking that Hugh Jackman as being dead on in his portrayal of Wolverine.

In the 2nd movie, we had to wait near the end when he used the word "Bub"...

He didn't act like that after the Statue of Liberty scene. He realized he had to "tone it down" because he was kind of a role model for the kids.

This isn't an 'issue' I have with the movie, but I'm curiuos. Could Nightcrawler save Rogue like that? Doesn't he go into another dimension and walk around to 'teleport'? Hence the sulfer smell and the puff of smoke.

BTW, I think that the intro's for both movies have kicked ass (magneto in a concentration camp/ nightcrawler in the white house). Kinda goes downhill from there (for me) but luckily the intro's get me so excited I don't care :p

Actually the reason cyclops is used less is because the googles make it almost impossible for the actor to see. Ever notice that when the actor moves. with the googles on. he always goes in a straight line or stands still a lot? And Jean Grey had to search for cyclops because it is too hard for him, the actor, to move around.

Wolverine and "tone it down" cannot be logically used in the same sentence. I think they just kind of forgot that aspect of his character because of all the other things going around. In the first movie, a major objective was to introduce his character and the many dimensions of him. In the second movie, we have so many other aspects that they forget to reinforce certain roles. It was less important to the plot that wolverine be portrayed as a loner and as a cocky SOB. However, in the first film that was a critical point, so they didn't dare leave it out.

i thought i prefer the nice guy wolverine in x2 over the sob wolv in comics. x2's wolv is made to attract mass appeal. if jackman stuck 100% to comic's wolv, some audience will hate the movie bcoz too annoyed by his ass-titude

Actually, he said "Bub" during the invasion of the school. "You picked the wrong house to break into, Bub!"

My only nitpick of the movie was they way that they wasted the Lady Deathstrike character. I know they can't fit every comic storyline into the movie but, in this instance, the comic Deathstrike was far more interesting and exciting than the movie Deathstrike.

Kelly Hu did look hot though.

I just hope they don't completely blow their load on the Phoenix storyline for X3. Would be nice to see it develop into her turning into Dark Phoenix at the end of X3 and then the dealing with the Dark Phoenix for X4. That storyline is too good to try and cram it into one film.

For those going off about the Professor "freezing time," I think he was just freezing everyone in the area in place, telepathically. Basically shutting down their brains. In the comic book, Kurt was rescued from a rooftop of a house in Germany that the villagers were trying to burn down after chasing him there. Professor X froze everyone in place (much as in the movie) when he did that.

he wasn't freezing time, he was getting in people's heads and making them think that he was freezing time.

yeah, he just "controlled" everyone into not moving

like you can hear someone on the other end of the mobile phone, so the rest of the world if running normally.
you even see people trying to get into the place and being confused by the stopped people :)

Last week, X-Men 2 was released and already people found 42 flaws in the movie. Why can't they find the flaws in their own lives?

that was great ..

BTW, am I the only one that find Rogue (Anna Paquin) EXTREMELY cute?

OMG..no..Anna Paquin is such a hottie! She was on MTV the other day in a cute braless/strapless shirt/skirt outfit! MMMM...so hot! IMHO...better than Rebecca Romain and Kelly Hu...

haha..it reminds me of a line "I would take Rebecca Romain Stamos before she got Stamosed" haha
