Mazda must have paid out the butt for that product placement.

there were 4 people

OWNED! :D

lol

I was thinking that too. Why choose that Mazda and not the other exotics? Hey I thought I saw a jag so why did no one use that? :D

The movie rocked :D and was dam good!

Good to read this thread and pick up on things.

Didn't pick up on Dr Hank and the Gambit on the pc screen.

The bit with Colloseus (sp!) was cool

a few more observations about this movie.

Wolverine was too refined. i always pictured wolverine to be a short, swarthy, redneck, lumberjack, gruff voice, SOB. The guy that played him was too much a pretty boy with pretty boy speech and manners.

No, he wasn't wolverine.

Cyclops, comon, he had almost NO ROLE in that movie. Cyclops is USUALLY at the center of anything that happens in XMen. he is the captain america of the XMan Universe. He should have had more of a role.

Man am I the only one who thought Hugh Jackman did an awesome job as Wolverine? Personally if they would've cast a 5' 3" guy as Wolverine he would NOT be as cool, not nearly as cool.

First of all Wolverine is not supposed to be "Cool". He's supposed to be a small BADASS MOTHERFVCKER. One that when he smokes a Cigar LOOKS like he should be smoking a Cigar. Someone that looks like you could strike a match on his 5 O'Clock Shadow. Someone who when he is fighting goes ABSOLUTELY berzerk.

Hugh Jackman just seemed to cool, kind of like a Bond with rough growth. Give me a fvcking break. That ISN'T wolverine.

As i said earlier, I enjoyed the film, as a film it was pretty good, As XMen it was only so- so.

I'm sorry that you think you know what Wolverine is "supposed" to be, but honestly, his height is bothering you this much? Jeez...

And when the specials ops invaded the mansion, I think he went pretty berzerk.

ask ANYONE that knows X-Men. Wolverine was KNOWN for being Short. THAT was part of his identity. He had the Napoleonic Complex, Sabre always called him a Shrimp, He was always SHORT.

Wolverines Identity was also about being a complete and utter uncouth redneck. Hugh Jackman doesn't do him justice AT ALL.

Oh btw, that seen in the mansion was not that berzerk.

And your comment is based on what?? you complete lack of knowledge about what you THINK about wolverine??

we are all just expressing our opinions, get over it.

Height: 5'3"
Weight: (without adamantium skeleton) 200 lbs., (with adamantium skeleton) 300 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Black
Strength level: While Wolverine may be of an advanced age, he possesses the normal human strength of a man in his prime with his height and build who engages in intensive regular exercise. While possessing the adamantium skeleton, Wolverine's strength was increased to the human maximum, making him capable of lifting (pressing) 800 lbs.

this was taken from the following site.

doesn't matter which site you go to, any source on wolverine all tells you the same thing, HE IS SHORT.

I think Hugh Jackman is perfect for Wolverine, though he is too tall. If you aren't satisfied with his performance, name another actor that you think fits the Wolverine role.

i can't, but I don't have the resources before me that they did. i'm not auditioning HUNDREDS of people to find someone to find what could be one of the most crucial roles in the film.

OTOH, Jean Grey and Cyclops were cast Perfectly, Storm was pretty good, but i'd rather they have had Angel and Not Storm as one of the original Xmen.

I thought Cyclops is far too small. Hes not like the cartoon of him.

I've not read any of the comic books but I've watched a lot of the cartoons though :D. Very nice.

Oh yeah Wolverine is that size in the cartoons and comics I guess because of his *agility*. In real life you DO NOT get a tall guy be that agile, it doesn't happen. Look at the gymnasts they are all pretty short. It helps having short limbs and such to keep the levers short so you don't have to be so strong. I think this is one of the reasons why they made him short in the cartoons to make him a bit more realistic like that. Hes short because hes very agile. You don't see Cyclops do that. Hes too big.

Dam fine movie! great info in this thread again!

A few questions from me:

1) How did sinister appear in the comics or cartoons? I can't remember but remember the episodes with him and the dino type of island and such and iwth Morph.......

2) I don't think they will introduce Phoneix in to X3. Maybe later but I do hope they get a long running serious going :D. I know they will if they are making more money then it costs to make the film. Be pretty cool to have about 20 X films :D

3) Roll on X3!

Hell, I can think of 2!!!

Tom Cruise. Dude it'd be awesome to have John Woo direct X3, we can see Wolvie fvck it up in slow mo, with the long hair going woooosh, the doves flying out of the way, bullets flying out of his claws Chow Yun Fat style. And top it off with Nicole Kidman playing the part of Rogue, woohoo redheads. But then we'd get people complaining about Wolvie's nose, how he's too pretty, where he learned to walk on water and trees, how Rogue is too tall, etc.

Sylvester Stallone. Sabertoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooth!!!! It'd be just like the Rocky scene in the freezer, with him beating up on the cows and all. And heck, we can even have Sly direct X3, since he's all awesome as a director, it'd be pure badass!!!

Oh, and for our favorite Cajun, I say go Latin and cast Ricky Martin hot hot hot!!

Then again, I guess now I see why people get paid the $$$$ they do for casting and I don't.

why did mystique seem surprised to find schematics of the academy? especially when it goes over to the Cerebro section? She's already been there before in X1... or was it she was surprised that a copy of cerebro was being built?

NO

he'd be Stocky. If he was all muscle no fat he wouldn't be overly large. 200 lbs w/o adamantium isn't overly fat. i knew a guy that was 5'4" 200 lbs and mostly muscle, he was stocky but not fat.

I just saw it again last night...still f'ing awesome!

This time I made a conscious effort to pick out more background mutants than before. I noticed Jubilee this time, and also paid attention to the computer screen in Stryker's office. I saw Remy LeBeau and Jamie Madrox in the list (as well as one other X-Factor member who I can't remember). The coolest thing, however, was on the second screen, where Mystique found the Cerebro folder. Right next to it on the screen was a folder called: Omega Red!

Nobody's mentioned the scene where Nightcrawler rescues Rogue after she's sucked out of the plane. That scene ruled my bee-hind like nothing else! :D

Anyone else notice that when professor X was attempting to kill all the humans that it panned to the White House and the secret service guys were on the floor reeling in pain yet the President was just lying back in his chair with a weird look on his face. It almost seemed like he was acting, it didn't seem as if he was in pain. Could he be a mutant?

I have an extensive comics collection from my chilhood-20's and I refered to the Marvel X-Men trading cards including the Xavier's Files and Cerbro Scan sets to answer a few questions for people who enjoyed the movie and might enjoy some comics backround on some of the notable characters

1. Lady Deathstrike has no mutant powers in the comics, she has enhanced strength and reflexes, and adamantium finger-claws that are mechanical in origin hence no infusion like Wolvie which required a accelerated healing factor. She is also sheathed in alien body armor. Wolvie didn't kill her pop, but she thinks he did and underwent experiments conducted by "the evil Spiral" that "mangled her flesh and made her a cyborg killing machine" (from Xavier's Files and Cerebro Scan *Cerebro set is awesome because it has a scale for complete power rating including Energy Projection, Mental powers, Strength, Fighting ability, and Intelligence*) Lady DeathStrike is a 6 of possible 7 in fighting ability.

2. The info provided by others on the Dark Phoenix is accurate and Jean is put in suspended animation by the Phoenix when it supplanted her. A notable point is that Phoenix is Jean and Scott's daughter and one of the many refugees from the future. Her name is Rachel Summers and her energy projection and mental powers are off the scale! She is a member of Excaliber and a side note is that she makes use of her powers to hide horrible facial tattoos that scar her face.

3. I'm surprised that people still question Jackman as wolvie as I thought everyone got over it with the first movie, I was wrong. BTW Logan has a perfect 7 for fighting ability.

4. Siryn A.K.A. Theresa Rourke can fly in the comics, she is a member of X-Force, and her uncle is a super villian named Black Tom Cassidy.

5. Sabretooth may not have appeared but he's not dead, he has a healing factor very much like Logan's which makes him immune to most any drug or poison. He and Logan were part of the weaponX project, he also has the max 7 for fighting ability, and he may have just fell out of favor with Magneto because he's not the sharpest tool in the shed so to speak and could potentially turn on him at any moment, plus he makes his living as an assassin/hired gun so he may be off makin' some bank. I've read enough in the past to know they speculate he and Logan are related and someone here mentioned he's Logan's dad, I don't know if that's the relationship but there is definitely one, maybe Creed is his older bro? It would explain why they are almost identical in beastial fury, healing powers, fighting ability, intense hatred of each other (sibiling rivalry) and why Creed calls him runt and it gets Logan so bent.

6. Colossus turns into organic steel, has a strength rating of 6 and despises violence of any kind. The classic gentle giant, and he only fights hoping to eliminate evil that he may fight no more, naive but noble, hence why they say he has the soul of a poet.

7.NightCrawler was abandoned at birth a raised by a sorceress named Margali Szardoz. He has a fighting level of 5, extreme agility and athleticism, and ended up with Excaliber.

The other characters are more popular and probably need no backround provided for even most non comics fans especially since the films expanded on them more. Anyways, I thought the movie was great, I have no nitpicking to do, I felt they treated the property amazingly well and made it everything you hope a comic to film will be :) I do need to see it again though because xeno2060 drove and I slammed vodka shots before leaving, then more drinks@TGIF's bar down the street from the theaters so I missed some stuff ;)
