I don't get the point of Jean Grey at the end out there stopping the water from hitting the jet. She could of stayed inside the Jet and still be able to do the same thing. No point, but hey, she's still alive hopefully.

That is true about stopping the water, but maybe she couldn't have levitated the jet if she were inside of it or something like that. As far as keeping the hottie, she'll be in the next movie.....it's just that she'll be Phoenix instead of Jean Grey. Oh, and I would like to reiterate that Nightcrawler and Colossus were badass.

BTW, am I the only one that find Rogue (Anna Paquin) EXTREMELY cute?:p

No. I found her quite cute as well! :p It also seems like I've seen her in other movies or tv shows, but I can't place my finger on it.

Good movie, though i think i hyped it up too much in my own head.
At the risk of sounding like a big comic book geek... (which sadly, i cannot claim, as i never followed the comic books THAT thoroughly)
...
6) At the end when theyre all panicking that the helo is gone, do they not realize that they have an SR-71 Blackbird there? Speaking of which, it should NOT be VTOL, though someone may have customized it. (Forge, in the future, perhaps?) You would have thought that he would put air-to-air missles while they were at it, though.

Are you saying the SR-71 should not be VTOL or the X-Men ship? I doubt Forge fixed up the SR-71.

7) Anyone notice that colossus didn't seem to have ANY accent? Has he been in the U.S. too long? And what happened to Rogue's god-awful accent? Did the director finally realize how bad it was in the first one and say "screw it, just stop pretending"?

Rogue had an accent in the first movie? I don't remember that. Was it southern? I hope so! Colossus did lose his accent, you're right.

8) How the hell did SpecOps get past the mansion's security defenses? Cerebro should have picked them up a mile away

Magneto told them how.

9) Why didn't wolvie smell mystique when she tried to seduce him as jean gray? Did he have a cold or something?

He was too horny. Testosterone inhibits his olfactory.

6) I'm saying that i dont think the Lockheed SR-71A Blackbird that the Xmen use is VTOL capable, unless someone like forge made enhancements to it somewhere down the line. Perhaps the comic book delves into that, i dunno. As far as the movie goes, i was just wondering why they were all panicking when the helo was gone if their blackbird was still there? (albeit a bit farther away, but hey, what is nightcrawler for?)

7) yeah, rogue had an "accent" in the first movie, though it went back and forth between southern and southern CALIFORNIAN, and louisianan. (sp?). Ok, so she's from New Zealand. Still. a) she should be hotter, b) she should be WAAAYY older, and c) she should have the right friggin accent. And colossus...i can't believe they didn't give him a russian accent. How hard could it be?

8) Magneto told them how? And what might that be? Walk very quietly? Remember, this isn't ONE ninja sneaking through the defenses. This is like a BATTALION of SpecOps arriving. I find it hard to believe that magneto could tell them a way to sneak hundreds of guys in without the mansion's security picking up on it.

9) I find it hard to believe that wolverine was sooo horny that he didnt pick up on it the MOMENT she stepped into the tent. I love the little convenient "exceptions" to rules they make up, though overall, condensing 40 years into a few two hour episodes isn't exactly easy. It's just that some of the things that they could VERY easily have fixed without causing complications were left in error. I understand how the shiar galaxy/MKrann crystal thing would be hard to explain given the time constraints. But colossus' russian accent? How hard would that have been to implement?

Was anyone really thrown off by the opening scene where nightcrawler was trying to kill the president? Nightcrawler is the one who keeps preaching to wolvie that "no matter how justified, the taking of a human life should never be taken lightly." Yes, the scene was BADA$$, but the first thing going through my head was "oh god, theyre royally fscking THIS up..."

This just occured to me. You know who could play the perfect Storm?? Thandie Newton, she played the female lead in Mission Impossible 2. She's prettier than Halle Berry, acts better, and can probably pull off the accent.

He was under the influence by Stryker. Remember that circle on the back of his neck? And he was even tellling Storm how when he went in the White House, he was so scared and didn't know why he was doing it. He just was. And also, he knew about Stryker's lab.

yeah, i know. I was just saying that at the beginning, before that was all explained, it completely threw me off, because nightcrawler wouldn't normally do that.

a few more observations about this movie.

Wolverine was too refined. i always pictured wolverine to be a short, swarthy, redneck, lumberjack, gruff voice, SOB. The guy that played him was too much a pretty boy with pretty boy speech and manners.

No, he wasn't wolverine.

Cyclops, comon, he had almost NO ROLE in that movie. Cyclops is USUALLY at the center of anything that happens in XMen. he is the captain america of the XMan Universe. He should have had more of a role.

Man am I the only one who thought Hugh Jackman did an awesome job as Wolverine? Personally if they would've cast a 5' 3" guy as Wolverine he would NOT be as cool, not nearly as cool.

First of all Wolverine is not supposed to be "Cool". He's supposed to be a small BADASS MOTHERFVCKER. One that when he smokes a Cigar LOOKS like he should be smoking a Cigar. Someone that looks like you could strike a match on his 5 O'Clock Shadow. Someone who when he is fighting goes ABSOLUTELY berzerk.

Hugh Jackman just seemed to cool, kind of like a Bond with rough growth. Give me a fvcking break. That ISN'T wolverine.

As i said earlier, I enjoyed the film, as a film it was pretty good, As XMen it was only so- so.

All I have to say is that *I think* that is the best comic book movie of all time. Yes, better than the original Batman. Better than Spiderman.

As for people arguing about Wolverine, the reason they made him short in the comics was to give him some sort of disadvantage. Every character in the X-men universe has some fear or disability. Summers has a father complex, one of the greatest father complex's in all time. Storm is claustrophobic. Grey becomes the embodiment of absolute destruction. Professor X is bald... oh yah and has no use of his legs...
But, I can see why they don't particularly care about height and being completely true to the comic. Wolverine is the marquee character, so if they want to market him, thats fine with me. He was never one of my favorites.

What disappoints me is the butchering of Magneto's character. Too think that he would allow Professor X to die, and try to exterminate humans... Kind of ruins it for me. He's my alltime favorite character.

Was there a thread with favorite scene yet? Mine's has to be Nightcrawler's attack. Man, I was disappointed that they opened with it and that he had only that one fight scene, but it was awesome.

Also, is anyone else hoping that when/if Jean Grey comes back, Ian McKellen says to her "What are you now, Jean the White?" If you get that, you're as big a nerd as I am I guess...

Hold on...

When the SpecOps infiltrate the Mansion, the little girl that phases through her bed, down the floor below, that's Shadow Cat is it not?

I thought that Jason was just projecting himself as her in Prof X's mind since Prof X knows that one of his students?

Anyone?

Yah, that is ShadowKat... I don't know if Stryker is projecting himself as ShadowKat, it could be anyone of the other students in the mansion.

Anna Paquin can look good on screen, but I think she looses it without all the make-up.

So I missed shadowcat too? Who was Shadowcat?

Edit: Oops, someone answered it as I was typing this.

And when the specials ops invaded the mansion, I think he went pretty berzerk.
