I'd make a brilliant military commander, I tell ya.

Hmmmmm.

um... why????
It's touching. It's what we're there for, an example of the humanity of it all. We care more about their people than they do.

Thats a great point, thanks for bringing it up. Since most of the 500 wells and pipeline and refinery systems were booby trapped they would have been destroyed had we not moved earlier than planned and as fast as we have. Those reserves are the one thing that ensures a vibrant viable economy and a quick rebuilding process for the Iraqi people. There is also increased saving in not having to pay for cleaing up potentially the worlds worst environmental disaster ever.

Or maybe we can shoot them for their stupidity?

Why aren't there any pranksters in those debriefs? They should pop a Tabitha Stevens tape in there and pimp the generals.

Then explain why the pilot's frequent bombers card was punched when he got back.

Because in the face of war and atrocities being committed against their fellow soldiers, they still have the compassion inherent in our way of thinking. Besides it shows a far different picture than the rest of the world would like to believe or claim are our intentions, tactics, and moral compass as a nation.

The other obvious reason is those are hungry children and you are seeing them get food, why wouldn't you be happy to see a starving child be fed? :Q

thinking before speaking is always a good idea...

So if they were targeting a military position, what's the problem then? The bomb missed, people got killed, sh!t happens, war is hell, now let's move on.....

There is no problem - I was just pointing out the difference in views.

At least someone else recognizes that...people seem to think "oh no, one of our missiles MIGHT have hit some civilians, lets stop the war"

Jeez, how many civilian casualities per DAY were there in any given city in WW2?

If they were bombing an AA site, who's to say the Iraqis didn't target the market themselves to blame us?

Keep it calm there! I'm pointing out the fact that the BBC and channel 4 are posting contradictory remarks to the US stations. That is all. I'm not making any point about whether we should bomb or not.

The ratio of "allied" deaths in typical warfare (WW I,II, Korea) is 1:15.

If this thing gets dirty and there's massive inner city combat gear up, it ain't gonna be pretty.
