There are a few issues to consider. The US newscasters are usually very concious about showing pictures or releasing names before the DoD can notify family. Secondly there is some question about the legality (Geneva Convention wise) of showing POW's on T.V. It is certain that what was shown on Iraq TV was in fact illegal by GC standards. You cannot broadcast the interrogation of POW's. There is even some question whether or not it is legal to show the POW's walking down the road with their hands on their head after they have been captured. Some websites have removed all the pictures of all the POW's for these reasons.
I think there is a misunderstanding.
I don't expect an excecution on national TV. That is not something u show on TV, I agree. I wouldn't want to see it myself.

Rumsfeld didn't order anything. He just requesting the TV station not to display the video, probably to give them time to inform the family of the dead and the captured soldier first.
Last night this place was all abuzz about those civilians clapping and kissing our guys as they rode in. "See, they love us. They want us there. We're doing a good thing by liberating these people." Now that the Iraqi soldiers executed our guys, some of you are like "Fvck 'em! Carpet bomb 'em! Damn 3rd world scum!"

Logic proscribes that given factors relate in a particular fashion . . . ie effects born out of a reasoned chain of causal events. Yes indeed they executed our guys . . . but I don't know what grab ass means. Let's assume the Iraqi regime holding US soldiers is loyal to Saddam. We tried to kill their leader with a cruise missile barrage. Would you not reasonably infer that given the opportunity to do mortal harm to a US soldier . . . they might actually do it?!
Saddam suffered some kind of injury during that attack . . . his Iraqi minions are essentially saying payback is a beotch. Our President has talked about how this war would be waged on our terms . . . horribly ignorant of him. People with real experience made it clear from the get-go that once the bullets start flying all bets are off. I ABSOLUTELY oppose the actions of Saddam's regime BUT I definitely understand them . . . and consider them quite logical. They will NEVER win a war of arms with us . . . but they can definitely loosen a few teeth. Bush tried to play if off during his Radio Address . . . claiming the war would be more difficult and longer than SOME people thought . . . that's not leadership . . . it's passing the buck.
The problem with many on the pro-war camp (and some in the anti-war) is myopia. Your logic is flawed b/c you can't see any possibilities outside of your own limited POV.

It wasn't my intension to offend anyone. I know this war is a very delicate subject, but still it seems like hiding from the truth to me.
To inform the families first seems like a logical reason to me and so is the geneva convention. Thanks Amos and DaveSohmer.
At the other hand, there are a lot of political games being played these days. The powers that goes with that are beond any of ours imagination, well at least mine.

I just read about how Russia was selling Iraq weapons and such, along with possibly France and China? I also saw something about it on CNN? Can someone clear up exactly what this is all about. Also if this is true, what does it mean for these countries? Are there some kinds of rules against this type of thing? Are these countries going to be next on our hit list?
I expect US casualties. I also realize the only outcome of the war is the destruction of the Iraqis regime. If those Iraqi soldiers choose to die for that regime, too bad, but I'm sure coalition forces are more than happy to obliged. If they surrender, they'll be treated according to the Genema convention. As for your image, it is unfortunate, but from the look of it, those Iraqis is killed by bombardment or artillery, those don't have brain to determine what a white flag meant.
