it's a lot prettier than the Z. 370Z is way overstyled. 350Z was much prettier.

I guess that's something that we will have to disagree on. To me, the 350z looks like a fat blob. The G35 was a much more attractive car IMO. However, I find that 370z much more aggressive and modern while the G37 looks a little feminine in non-IPL trim.

Agreed. The 370Z is a much better car to drive as well IMHO. The 350Z had terrible blind-spots, and although the 370Z isn't spectacular either, it's much better. The 370Z is a little more roomy as well...

Styling-wise, I like the front/side views a lot better on the 370Z. The wider, shorter stance made a big difference for me as well. I admit I am a little biased, but I test drove both, and decided to wait for the 370Z to come out and got that...

I'm not in the market for something like this but I love that they made a no frills, back to basics light weight sports car. If sales are decent I bet we see a high powered version with a turbo in a few years.

Something isn't right here. The Yen is very expensive and the car is going to be made in Japan. Where are they cutting costs if they're not going to charge close to $30k for this thingand plan on making a profit? I'm talking about Subaru and Toyota.

People keep on saying this yet the Miata/MX-5 has quite a bit less power, is only a tiny bit lighter, and is still is an absolute blast to drive.

Yes, but the Miata is relatively easy to go FI, on many of the engines. If you want FI on the FT-86, it will probably be MUCH more than doing this on a Miata.

I would be annoyed (to say the least) if I shelled-out close to 30k for this car initially, and then the next year they have one with 280hp...

Overall I'm very happy Toyota is coming out with this car, but I'm also admittedly disappointed that the engine was developed by Subaru and not Toyota.

So far, the concensus seems to be it will handle very well! Nice.

Modability doesn't cross the minds of the vast majority of car buyers. Most will buy it and leave it as is.

Why would you say that? I'm thrilled that Toyota let Subaru handle the 'meat' of the car. I'd much rather trust Subie to do a good job on performance than toyota.

I don't get why the the high compression ratio would preclude turbocharging. Can't you get a crank shaft with a smaller stroke, and exchange some displacement for lower compression?

Wow they couldn't be bothered to put a little tire shine on that? Who detailed it Stevie Wonder?
