Thats because the AP called MO, and later retracted...

Clinton's have always controlled and dictated the mainstream media. They were the favorites long before Obama swept many of them off their feet. It's no surprise they are spinning the night as favorably for Clinton as possible.

Its not going to slow Obamas trajectory. Doesnt hurt Obama has more cash on hand and the next 6 states should all go to Obama.

But the media reaction pisses me off sometimes, here and abroad. Clinton moves ahead? Cancels out early victories? Clinton was the one who had a bunch of early victories before Obama stacked up a bunch of mid and western states! It is completely untrue, both that and the claim that she won the night.

edit: and Yahoo! is outright lying with a headline that Clinton wins in Missouri on the front page. Unbelievable.

how can you trust the times, it's run by rupert murdoch

Yahoo - currently subject to a hostile takeover by Microsoft. the last Clinton government launched antitrust proceedings against Microsoft. A new Clinton government may be hostile to a Microsoft takeover of Yahoo. so maybe Yahoo wants to be seen as supportive of Clinton. Or maybe they are just reporting the news, that win in california was kind of newsworthy

Oh, no doubt, Wreckem. Obama is for real. All the pundits and Clinton operatives sitting around bitching that he can't win "White" votes and play well enough have been silenced by his wins in some of the most rural districts in the country, and his great results amongst WHITE voters.

It ain't over, but the momentum is clearly with Obama.

Well at the end of the night it is clear that in terms of delegates Hillary is in the lead on the democratic side by a small margin and McCain is in the lead on the Republican by a large number. I really don't think McCain will be caught, but it is still plausible that Obama overtakes Clinton given the $$$ advantage.

isn't that statement in conflict with the reality of Hillary's wins in all those huge states?

What are the next states?

This Saturday
Louisiana
Nebraska
Washington
Virigin Islands

This Sunday
Maine

Next Tuesday
Maryland
Virginia
Washington DC

Even the Clinton campaign admits these next states are extremely favorable to Obama. He shoud sweep next Tuesday.

No.

She won CA because 3million people voted weeks ago before Obama took off like a rocket.

Not only that even using the Clintons calculus, estimates show Obama narrowly winning more delegates for today.

He won 14 states. She won 8.

Obama and Hillary are pretty neck-in-neck in the delegate count, and Obama's got the money advantage for the next states. Hillary's aces in the hole were Cali, NY, and NJ... they couldn't lock it up for her, so she's going to be facing a tough fight if Obama pulls out a lead in the delegates, though TX is looking good for her, last time I checked.

There is one poll for Texas, and its showing the same Obama trajectory. Its going to be close. You have large swaths of A&M, Texas Tech, Lubbock Christian, Abliene Christian, and Baylor students that overwhelmingly support Obama. These are extremely conservative schools.

They'll split Texas. Obama will win Ohio.

I just don't know if you can trust those numbers at all though, looking at voter turnout, people between 18-25 were at like 12% where people >50 were at like 50%, so you need 4 college students in support of you for every senior citizen you have supporting you because odds are VERY high that those college students won't even vote even if they say they support you. Historically speaking anyone who relied on young people to vote for them has lost, young people do not get out and vote nearly as much as older people. All they are good for is moaning and bitching about who the current president is and then being too lazy to even go out and vote. Thats why all our policies favor the elderly over the young because thats who gets you elected, not the outspoken college students who talk the talk but never walk the walk.

delegates are assigned proportionally and in states he one he often had very high margins of victory.

Obama's got good momentum, but just not outstanding. Hilly is sliding, but not freefalling. Its too bad he couldn't have pulled an upset in NJ or MA, that would have put Hilly on the ropes. There was no way CA was going to go for Obama, I don't ever seeing the latinos going much for him. I think this will give him trouble in TX too.

However, considering where he is at from 2 wks ago, he seriously cut her down. If he can upset her in Missourah, that will be huge as well. She is going to get pounded the next few weeks, and the increased time plays for Obama. Hilly's hope is for the clock to run out

gotta agree with you there.

I think Hillary really needed to have a KO today; she scored big with Cali, NJ, and NY, and winning Mass was a nice rebuff to Kennedy, but the longer this goes on, the worse her chances are.

I think Clinton needed a convincing majority of wins to end Obama's run. She and Bill may have to cry a river for the next several days to pull through. They may pull it off.
