You're the debbie downer of this thread, and I see you bitch and moan about almost every game in the past.

and this proves my point.

The price on the overlord games is a good deal and they are fun if you like that kind of games. I think my couch eats more change than that on a monthly basis!

Come on guys, can't we all just get along, at least until the Steam sale is over? 😀

I bit on the $24.99 Borderlands GOTY edition. :whiste:

If you ever need any weapons or class mods, let me know... I have some rather good ones saved up. I can't give you anything that I have since I haven't started a game with Mordecai or Brick yet (so I still need to use some of the items that I've saved for them).

If you play as Siren, I have a good blue quality Mercenary class mod with ammo regen.

I would show you, but apparently I lost all of my configuration files for Borderlands in one of the updates... which is fantastic, because I can't even remember how in the world to change the resolution! Given Borderlands is a stupid console port, it doesn't have resolution in the graphics menu :|.

EDIT:

You may be interested in this as well, I picked up the Configuration Editor again: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=85874

It will allow you to disable the opening movies as well since they cannot be skipped.

EDIT 2:

Duh, I forgot that you have to go down further in the menu for the resolution. Most games, the arrows scroll entire pages of options, but in Borderlands, it only goes down a single option :\.

Hmm, weird. Thanks for the information and offer man. Going to try it out probably tomorrow. So much to play now!

The graphics are good to great depending on how you look at them, there are enough side quest to keep you busy for a long time, the voice-overs get old,,,,, For $9.99, I think its well worth it.

I bought borderlands and fallout 3 around the same time; I find myself playing borderlands more then I do FO3.

Co-op is a lot more fun then single player.

Borderlands is more then just a game, the developers have created a whole other world and its yours to explore.

Anyway, DMC4 went up to $10? Lame. I was considering it at $5, but not $10

Dang, you're right. I thought my mind had tricked me. Oh well. At $5, yeah, I was considering it, but for $10... meh. I'm not that interested in it anyway. Looks like I'm not getting anything today.

Torchlight is great if you don't already have it.

Saints Row 2 is a shitty console port, don't touch.

Counter-Strike: Source should be essential IMO. I don't know a single Steam user who doesn't also have Counter-Strike. Seriously. If you don't have it, then why the hell not? It's damn cheap and it's fun.

I've really enjoyed Borderlands but the story is pretty much non-existent but I still have had much fun doing missions and getting new weapons.

I've stopped looking at the Steam sale as I already have like 70 Steam games I haven't even touched and many console games I need to play as well. Steam sales have wasted too much of my money.

I'm pretty sure CS:S is still one of the top played games on Steam.

It trades spots with original counter strike for top spot. If you have never played before though the competitive curve can be pretty steep right off the bat. But any older, hugely popular game will be like that.

Man, I played 1.6 and the versions before religiously when I was younger.

Source was a nice upgrade in graphics but 1.6 will always have a place in my heart.

thanks to A Casual Fitz for recommending PB Winterbottom

if you liked braid, or even if you didn't, pick it up! it's only 50 cents and it's really fun

I can't pass up a 50 cent game... I bought it and gifted to two friends 😀.

Borderlands at $10 is a good price.
Unfortunately, I want the GOTY edition and would never pay more than $15 for it.

Plus I have too many STEAM games and haven't played most of what I bought last year, so that's always a good excuse.

Just a warning on Battlefield 2. I'm having massive CD key issues. It's pretty annoying. It's not a DRM issue per se, but more of how Steam handles third party CD keys I believe.

Basically the game keeps telling me that my CD-Key invalid and I can't join any servers. Need to figure out a fix
