I bit on Tropico 3 Absolute Power and Dragon Age Ultimate.

$25 was my upper limit for a game, but I knew I'd be kicking myself if I didn't pick up DA at that price. And, I was going to pick up Absolute Power anyway at $5 at the end of the sale.

So, I'm done for the sale. I'm already tight on money as it is, so I don't need more games. (Unless there's a ridiculous 80%+ off deal )

Edit: Holy crap, Dragon Age Ultimate is 23gb! O_O I think I'll delete The Force Unleashed (30gb, lol) to make space.

red faction:guerrilla i picked up during the THQ sale a while back. awesome game. i really need to finish it, though lol. 19 hours put into that game and i believe where i left off i was close to the end of it. definitely would recommend the red faction games to anyone who doesn't have them.

I'd say the campaign is worth it if you're on the edge about it that much, MP might still be playable. But even @ $30....I don't think it's going to get an cheaper :hmm:

If you REALLY want MW2, I suggest trying to find a copy retail. It's not always cheaper, but you can get lucky and find it for less than $30 at times. The key registers on steam.

People on ebay sell the keys for cheap. There were a lot of people a while ago selling them because they were given away free with video cards.

Well, I already played Tropico 3 (just without its expansion, Absolute Power), and it's quite a bit different from SimCity.

It is, though a city builder, and quite a good one at that. It has some personality, as you get to play as a dictator and build up the city around your island. I haven't played it nearly as much as I should have, but I enjoyed every minute of it so far.

I haven't played it in a few months, and you're probably better off looking up some youtube videos of gameplay. I paid ~$13 for the base game a while back, and I don't regret it one bit. $6 for the base game + expansion is a steal.

Tropico 3 is fun. However, consider it light entertainment because it is VERY VERY easy.

it's certainly playable. I went through it with keyboard mouse, but imo, game pad would be much better for this. combo moves with batarangs and such is the type of stuff that is meant for a game pad.

fighting can be accomplished easily with left-clicking through the entire game, but the gamepad should allow more variety as buttons and combos are designed/mapped for a pad.

I agree. Batman: AA is VERY playable with mouse and keyboard. They did a good job adapting the controls (UNLIKE Alpha Protocol. That game was a horrible port of the console controls). I played the whole game with mouse and keyboard.

However, I can see how it would be better with a gamepad.

If you're thinking about buying Splinter Cell Double Agent for the extra discount on Conviction... don't. Double Agent is shit. I've played all the Splinter Cells, and Double Agent is BY FAR the worst.

Do yourself a favor, though, and pick up Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

Remember, Splinter Cell: Conviction contains the nasty Ubisoft DRM. Don't touch.

Splinter Cell Conviction was fun. I've never had problems with the Ubi DRM.

I'm not usually a stickler for DRM (I know people who are far more stingy), but to me, Ubisoft's new DRM system just crosses the line. They've been implementing it in all of their games since Ass Creed II. Basically you're required to have a continuous internet connection in order to play a single player game, and if you're connection to the DRM server drops once, then you're dropped from the game.

I tried playing Conviction, and it's very "meh" anyway. I like the Splinter Cell games, particularly the older ones because they were purely about stealth. Unfortunately Ubisoft has whored out the series into a genericized third-person shooter where you play as Jack Bauer or some shit. There are some aspects of Conviction that are interesting, but overall it's just another mediocre shooter that holds your hand too much.
