2D pack and the Fantasy Pack will tempt me. And the Potato Pack has a lot of great content in it.

And what's with all the "Where's the AAA titles" BS? Get off your high horse and use your head. Of course these aren't all the deals, and a number of these indie titles are actually pretty exceptional.

Braid, Beat Hazard, and Killing Floor I've enjoyed a lot. Gish, Super Meat Boy, (The) Ball, and Amnesia are worth a look as well, though I've yet to play them personally.

I actually have "The Void" it's a pretty cool game, kinda creepy, but it takes patience. It's kind of a resource management game wrapped in an adventure package.

There are two separate things that you can win. Every two days, if you completed one of the objectives set for that period, you can win 5 of the games on your wishlist (a random person, of course).

On the 20th, if you have completed at least 10 objectives and log in, you will be entered in the contest to win 100 games of your choice.

I don't think I can even choose 100 since I own too many already 😛.

ah, I re-read that last night. wish I hadn't bothered checking on those every other day and shoveling a wee bit of brain capacity and time into completing the easy tasks (neffing Keith Talent's profile page, for example).

No way in hell I was going to buy games I didn't have just to meet their 10 minimum. 🙁

Last year it was virtually guaranteed that I would wake up, walk to my computer, and spend between $2 and $20, every single day of the sale.

Even tho I own The Witcher on DVD (got it free w/ a videocard at some point), I'm hoping for a good sale on it on Steam. Last year it was under $10, but then CD Projekt stepped in and made them raise the price. Party poopers.

I got Witcher for like $7 during the July 4th sale so I'd imagine it'll be back. Same for ME and ME2 which people seem to be looking for, I think they were like $5 a piece or maybe $10 for ME2.

Main message updated with info pulled from Gaf. Will update w/ additional information as it becomes available.

I would avoid buying anything over $5 until the last day of the sale. A lot of the bigger titles will show up as Daily Deals and you'll end up having paid more than you would have had to.

My general rule of thumb is to hold off on anything over $5 til the end, just in case.

Oh, I just realized that they're still in the process of setting up the store. I'll hold off my complaints till then. I wanna get in on those insane daily deals once they're up. 🙂

Either their still setting up the sales pages, or the steamstore is overloaded. Pages keep timing out, some pages are blank, and pages are not being displayed correctly.

I got ME for $4.99 during a Steam sale in July. Best $4.99 I've ever spent for a game. Thanks to all of you who recommended that title (you know who you are).

Here's hoping Steam offers me ME2 on sale. I'm after The Witcher as well.

So do all deals up today last till the 3rd? How can I tell if they do or do not? What is the best way to buy wisely?

Some packs have games I really really want in them, but they aren't discounted individually. Should I wait for the individual game and it might possibly be discounted?

Some of these deals aren't so hot. 🙁. Games that were discounted for the treasure hunt were WAY cheaper than they are now.

Metro 2033, Just Cause 2, or Empire Total War. Just a couple days ago they were much more heavily discounted.

Games I'm interested in purchasing: World in Conflict, Unreal 3 Black, F3 Goty, Crysis, Bad Company 2 (I'm on IT), Dragon Age. If anyone has any suggestions for tactics on these titles, I'm all ears.

The packs are usually on sale the whole time. The individual games come and go. Some are discounted the whole time, some aren't and some are discounted a couple separate times.
