So spend them. Buy PVP weapons and gear. Also trade them for Merc medals that you will need for champ bags at 50.

yes, this is what i did when i realized that i was no longer earning commendations.

This happened to me, but only for 3-4 rounds. It's pretty stupid to have the limitation in the first place but whats worse is that it does not tell you about it.

Priority order:
(1) The one champ bag you can buy before 50. Convert 600 Warzone to 200 Merc, then buy.
(2) Merc commendations. Conversion rates mean you should fill this up to the 1000 maximum first (unless, as is unlikely, people actually start using Outlaw's Den).
(3) PvP gear.

It's possible to start l50 with six Champion bags, which is really the only way to go if you plan on continuing PvP with the same character. You'll still feel the pain vs the overgeared Battlemasters though.

I guess if you aren't interested in what little lvl 50 content there is.

Earning Daily commendations for speeder/ear/implant takes around an hour.
Daily hardmode flashpoints if you are lucky to have a group capable. Will take several hours.
Daily PvP wz and Ilum can eat up a lot of time too.

Unless you have the entire day to play, or as I said don't find these things interesting, then yeah there isn't much to do.

I guess that's exactly my point. You can do your daily stuff once you're 50, but that's the same shit you're grinding out every day. There is ONE planet you can go on to do world PVP at 50. The hard mode 4 man instances are a joke, offering no challenge whatsoever. I wished Bioware added more end game content to the game. I think they made a mistake of offering so many planets for leveling, but a lot of those planets are pointless to revisit when you're 50. It's disappointing, because some of those planets were really cool. So now that you're 50, you have the option of hanging out on the space station and queue up for instances, battlegrounds, or fly to Ilum to do your daily grind.

Edit: I hate to bring WoW in as a comparison, but it's important to point out something when a game like TOR borrows so much from WOW, yet failed to deliver on the same level of enjoyment of WOW. One thing that I thought was such a great gaming experience for me was when I played WOW, leveling from 1-60, as I progress from one zone to another, there is always a level of danger of knowing I could get ganked by some level 60 or someone that is red/skull to me at any given moment. And if there's a gankfest going on, it eventually turns into an allout PVP fest when everyone brings in their buddies and guildmates...Soutshore and Tarren Mill anyone? I did not experience a single ounce of that as I level in TOR. I managed to do some world PVP, only because I had to drive my ass into enemy territory to find some opposing players to pick a fight with.

thanks. I guess I'll stop buying these PvP boxes with my spare commendations.

It's kinda like that for many new MMOs. Not a lot of end game content. It's so easy to level in this one though that it's going to be widely more apparent.

It's going to take me a long time to reach 50 in each of the 8 class stories, so BioWare has a while to add more story content if they want to keep me paying.

If not, I've enjoyed it so far so I'll have no regrets.

Would someone be able to explain PvP gear at level 50? I had 1000 Warzone Commendations and traded them in to get 200 Mercenary Commendations. From there I purchased a bag and got a Centurion Commendation. There has to be a quicker way to get gear besides trading commendations one for another.

I may be mistaken since I'm not 50 yet, but you also get commendations from the PVP dailies/weeklies on Ilum (assuming you can complete them at all). I believe there are also certain chests randomly on Ilum that also contain commendations as well.

Just got the game yesterday, I'm debating whether I should join the AT guild or play on a west coast server where my ping is lower (~40ms vs ~130ms). I made a couple guys on Shii-Cho last night to see what the AT scene is like there and there werent too many online...I may have to just be a loner in this one on my west coast server. Maybe I'll just level guys on both servers. But I will stay tuned to this thread anyways.

Yeah, it's starting to wear thin no me. Played 10 matches today and was on 1 winning team. So an hour or so of play time for nothing. This game is really pointless beyond the original story which could have been free. Heck, the majority of the time I had too many quests to bother trying to get a group together to run a heroic.

Maybe it's just me being bitter from not having enough time to play, but...

You got an hour of PvP from it?

I'm so strapped for time these days IDGAF if I lose these WZ's. I just need 4-7 medals/game haha.

Don't worry, you aren't missing much. Worse than playing the same maps on BF3. Here they are small and are typically dominated by one team a few minutes in.

Ping is not a big deal in the game unless maybe you're super sensitive/anal. My ISP has been having issues that put my ping lately at about 150 ms with regular spikes to 250+ (normal is about 60-80), but I rarely notice it unless it spikes above 500...

maybe yes, maybe no. the point is it's crap.

It's a way to get more money out of an under developed product. They blew the wad on the story/voice acting for 0-50, but made it simple so people are hitting the end game run-around in a month. I remember it taking a lot longer in WoW and there was still a lot to do.

The Centurion commendations are just the booby prize: a lucky Champion bag will give you a whole Champion piece (in token form, so you can pick within the slot). For reference, blue level 50 gear is rating 116. Centurion items--which you buy with the commendations--are rating 126. Champion items, from lucky bags, are rating 136, and the top-end Battlemaster items are rating 140. The thing is that daily commendation gear is 126 and pretty easy to get.

This is similar to the normal mode ops/hard mode flashpoint boss drop: a chance of a Columi (136) token, else some commendations for Tionese (126) gear. Ops bosses drop Columi commendations as well, though...

I was 2 out of 6 from the Champion bags so far. Got an implant and headgear. The rest were Centurion commendations. PVPing with Battlemasters is pretty painful, more so when they're a premade. :hmm:

You'll get one champion bag from the daily which is win 3 warzones. You'll get 3 bags for doing the weekly which is win 9 warzones. You'll can also get one bag from doing the Ilum daily, which is kill 30 players or collect 30 armaments. 3 bags from the weekly which is kill or collect 150 players or armaments. For maximum burnout and disappointment you can do them all and have the possibility of not even getting squat champion gear and if you do get one then it's probably a duplicate. :colbert:

I'd imagine it would be pretty hard for Republic to do the Ilum quests if there is more Empire on your server. We had a pretty good turnout for Republic and Empire tonight.

EDIT: Make that 2 out of 8 :(

Premade v premade huttball is some of the most fun I've had in any PVP game or scenario; while the balancing definitely isn't ready for an Arena setting, I'm valor 58 and still really enjoying it. I actually much prefer the 50 bracket; I find there's generally more coherent teamplay whereas the lower level bracket tends more towards a killfest. Winning a match that comes down to the wire is a rush if you let yourself get into it.

Gearing up is hit or miss, on one hand almost everyone I know has gotten some nice upgrades almost immediately through Champion bags, on the other hand my friend who is valor 56-57 has gotten something like 19 tokens out of 80+ bags but it's been something to the tune of 6 relics and 5 implants; on that same note I'm still missing my helmet and gloves and relics but have gotten 3-4 pants/belts. With that said, I wholeheartedly prefer it to WoW's honor grind however. People are just rarely willing to take the good with the bad.

Bunch of nice bugfixes this patch as well. The ops leader/companion bug was just abysmal lol, and hopefully this patch means all warzone wins and ops progress quest completions will count now. EV lava bug fixed will be nice too, hopefully they get the pylon puzzle fixed up soon.

Also after hearing so much about the Karagga fight, while it wasn't bad or anything, I thought people really made a much bigger deal out of it than it deserved. Admittedly it was just 8man normal but we two shot it our first time seeing him, I feel like the Soa fight is actually more difficult to master. My favorite is definitely the droid with the fire puzzle in KP.

Heh, I was actually going to get to play for a bit yesterday, for the first time in a couple weeks, but no dice. As soon as I'd log in, my video started going nuts. Ended up installing latest drivers and direct x to see if that fixed it, but no.

I guess now I have to figure out if it's my video card, or some conflict with the game. didn't have time last night to really give it a go /sigh
