Bleh, beat me to the punch :p

Yea, it seems like that is the case. 1.7 resubcribed. So if my basic math is correct, only a 15% loss. But still really nice numbers for a new MMO.

Personally, I do like the weekly patches and where the game is going on the whole. If they keep doing this and gradually introducing content, I think the numbers will only go up. It also enforces that forum users are the far minority.

I re-upped for six months even though I am only level 31 and barely have time to play a few hours per week. I like the game so much, I figure it will easily keep me happy for six months at my super slow-ass pace. :D

Honestly, I think your way of taking it slow is the best way of going about things. I think most of the complaining is by people just rushing to 50 and expecting gobs of end game content to be in already. This game is huge if you take your time to see what it has while leveling up. But by the time you get to 50, a lot more fixes will be in and hopefully more end game content as well.

I went for a 6 month sub but I'm not so sure I'll continue beyond that.

Thats my thoughts too. basically just going till the next patch then decide now. Seems like a lot of people i was playing with end game wise have sort of teetered off. A lot of them were saying how little there is to do at 50 outside our weekly raids.

my plan is to at least go till the next major patch and see if the legacy system, new operations, and all that is worth it. Right now im more o rless stagnant myself. i dont pvp and dont feel like doing fp's so doesnt leave much to do :) Which sort of works out since now im somewhat busy in rl

I bought a month... leveling pretty slowly though... I only feel the mood to play every few days.

When I play though I have a good time, I am not really playing it as an MMO though :p

There's a *lot* of stuff in the last big dev post, but to me, this is the most exciting:
Georg Zoeller said:
It is our intention to gradually, over multiple patches, reduce the impact of situational consumables on endgame combat resolution and shift the factors which determine the outcome of combat more towards personal skill. As part of this effort, specifically for PvP, we are also working on changes that will reduce the gear related power difference between new characters at level 50 and players in full PvP gear. We feel that at the current time, this difference is too high.
+1000 valor to Georg

Mind you, I'm actually at the point now where I can go toe to toe with pretty well-geared enemies, but the change should massively improve the PvP experience all around.

Patch notes for current 1.1.2 patch on the PTS have been put up, unsurprisingly massive crying ensued :D

Personally I don't think Marauders are in need of any more damage, but otherwise it sounds like things are heading the right direction steadily.

However has anyone had any luck with respec costs resetting after a week or on Tuesday or whatever it supposedly is? Last time I respecced was I think Jan 21/22 which cost me either ~50k or ~100k, can't recall, and every time I've checked the vendor since then it's still been set to cost ~100k I think. The only thing I'm wondering is maybe just talking to the NPC to check the cost resets some sort of internal counter for it, but who knows.

I got my solo Operative to Battle Master now with 651 expertise and I shelved him for now. The Op nerf hardly affected me, now I can restun after I knockdown out of HS. I specced out of 400 cybertech and took up biochem and got to 400 in about 6 hours. Got my Rakata health, stims and adrenals, just so I can PvPwn. I realize money is not worth much so I buy all my alts the best gear as possible on the GTN and to support low level crafters.

Got my static group Mercenary to 40 and he just seems so powerful for his level. Destroying people in WZs.

Now working on my solo Marauder, got him to 22 mostly through WZ and omg, HE IS OP in Hutball, LOL. I can be on a team of idiots and win because I jump down then jump on some idiot on their goal line, over and over again.

One I get my static Merc to 50, we will do raids and HM Flashpoints and once I get my solo-Marauder to 50, I will do more PvP so I feel I got at least another 4-6 months left in me if everything stays the same.

Fun game! I love the story lines for each.

My next adventure will be exploring the Republic story.

-10000 valor to Georg. His posts sounds good but it's as if he doesn't know what is currently happening and being changed.

1.1.2 is supposedly going to reduce the frequency of item tokens and up the frequency of useless commendataions. Making newcomers to level 50 PvP suffer longer than ever.

Centurion items are trash and you can't even get Champion commendations until valor rank 60 at which point you'll likely have most of the champ gear you need and only want the Battlemaster gear tokens.

Champion bags should contain champion commendations with a rare chance at a champion token.

Battlemaster bags should contain battlemaster commendations with a rare chance at a battlemaster token.

Centurion items should be purchasable with warzone/mercenary commendations.

Centurion commendations should be removed.

I am probably the odd man out here. But I hate the idea of people being able to be healer at the drop of dime, or change spec at the drop of a dime. Your spec is your character. I'd actualyl like to see them increase respec to 500,000 credits at top level. That is how much I dislike the fact that you can completely shift your character from DPS or Healing.

I know... I know... I am stupid, don't understand MMOs, etc... I already heard this. I just hate the "respec whenever I feel like it" aspect.

If Sprint was active when a player died, it now remains active when the player is revived.

Thank god.

I'm with Keith.

I'm only level 33 and just finishing the bonus series for the Sith side on Tatooine. I get only a few hours to play every other night. Since my GF moved in month and a half ago, one must take pains to make sure a new dynamic to a relationship stays healthy. So I can't just sit down for 6 to 10 hours after I get off work playing as much as I want.

So things have slowed down considerably for me. That and I like to play a few other games that I am trying to get through.

I'm also still laughing that the devs are JUST NOW realizing that fully decked out level 50s in best pvp gear laugh at anyone else in a WZ that isn't similarly equipped. We all knew this in beta. Get static set of two teams queuing together to do a WZ that is all level 50 with max or near max gear and it isn't even a contest.

The respec cost reset doesn't show up until after you commit to the respec. That is, the guy says "your respec will cost 1000, you still want it? you click yes "oh, it's been a week, you qualify for a discount, it's free"

Oh, huh. Maybe I'll give it a shot tonight then, thanks.

But that's any PVP MMO practically. Hell any PVP game almost. On one hand you have the audience who needs a constant reward for anything and everything they do to feel worthwhile, and on the other hand you have the group of people who will call something as trivial as faction specific datacrons imbalanced. Finding a happy medium between the two is basically impossible.

Honestly I don't see the problem, it doesn't take that long nor cost that much to have a decent set of level 50 gear between your bags, centurion commendations and a few AH epics. And all the while people are complaining about the gear discrepancy, there's also a noticeable sentiment that gearing up is all around too easy. You have one side demanding "more" and one side demanding "less" almost at all times.

For what it's worth, I don't think the bag system is a bad middleground really, it's random, yes, but like it or not random is about as fair as it gets in the long run. One friend of mine got his mainhand and offhand saber out of 2 of his first 3 bags, another friend didn't get anything until his 14th bag. But it evens out so long as you don't overreact, and before too long everyone's about equally (un)lucky.

I also think the bag system is a good compromise as well. Although I didn't get my mainhand until I had enough centurion tokens to buy my mainhand then the very next bag had my mainhand GRRRRRR. I still haven't got my headgear but with the Battlemaster system, I've got a set of all BM accessories and saving my tokens for my mainhand and offhand.

I have great luck because I get champion gear tokens about 50% of the time I open them. But, most of the time, they are repeats. I've pulled mods and enhancements out to min/max my guy as well as outfit 2 of my companions in almost full champ gear (temple and lokin)

But on the other hand, random is frustrating, especially if you know that your buddy who is a fresh rank 60 and his first 3 BM bags are all gear tokens, enough to get his weapon!!!!

Quick armor rating q...was grouped w/ a lvl 40 light armor charecter who said his armor rating was over 4k, and me (as a Maurader, medium armor, lvl 41) should be 6k+...I checked and I'm not even at 3k, however all my equipment is orange w/ mods w/in a level or 2 of me, so no idea how it's so low...
Does that sound right? My armor rating should be over 6K w/out any pvp gear? He was saying it should be up there just w/ mods from commendation vendors (which I have been buying..)

He's full of it. My decently geared medium armor dps has 3353 armor... *at level 50*.

With that said, I'm not sure if "Level 50 Armoring Z" provides the same amount of armor in a light armor orange item as it does in a heavy armor orange item of the same slot though.

Is anyone here running SWTOR on a 7950 or 7970? I just got my 7950 at long last yesterday, and I've still got some testing to do, but so far performance has been pretty abysmal. I'm leaning towards a malfunctioning card given some of the other symptoms, but I'd be curious to see how others with similar cards are performing. I'm running at 1680x1050 with a 7950 and 3.8GHz Phenom II quadcore, and with all in game settings on "Low" or "Off" I was getting 30-40 FPS in Central Assault on Ilum, which judging from some numbers from the people I play with is definitely much too low.
