it's a shame there aren't perks for being neutral, that's usually how most of my answers would lean (eg: occasionally taking a shortcut but not being outright evil)

I typically always take the good path in games. This time around I decided to go pure evil. I pretty much look for any chance to cause pain or slaughter people. Only downside is that my companion often does not like when I make these choices. Also interesting that your appearance does change over time.

Didn't know that happened.

I find it interesting how in some of the quest sequences, I'm really thinking about which answer/response I should click on. Some are obvious when you see the Good/Evil indicator light up when you mouse over it, but I'm always worried about a negative response from the companion. At least, I can gain approval again by showering him/her with gifts.

The dialogue options is what makes this game better than typical MMO's IMO. I also like that quests have multiple endings depending on how you want to handle it. In WoW, I would barely read the quests since the actual hunting and gathering seemed more important than the story.

Yeah, I agonize over some of those decisions, concerned about whether my companion will approve or not. Of course when I was macking Sergeant Jaxo I didn't care that my companion disapproved, she was irresistible! 😎

interesting that you can't persuade your companion to go along with your dark side.

yeah some of them do bother me. I don't want to get negitive on my companion. but some of the choices are so evil its funny. finally broke 1000 net for darkside wich is great since i have a great light saber +dark only

I love the way companions participate in dialogue. I have great fun pissing off Risha by flirting with every woman I talk to. 😛

Well, going down my evil path has finally allowed me to force choke someone to death across the room. I then logged off feeling a little embarrassed by my wrath.

I can't bring myself to go full dark side on my Imperial Agent... maybe on my Sith character.

I can't help but think that the whole Imperial Agent concept lends itself to fundamentally lawful neutral.

Lawful Neutral

Lawful Neutral is called the "Judge" or "Disciplined" alignment. A Lawful Neutral character typically believes strongly in Lawful concepts such as honor, order, rules and tradition, and often follows a personal code. A Lawful Neutral society would typically enforce strict laws to maintain social order, and place a high value on traditions and historical precedent. Examples of Lawful Neutral characters might include a soldier who always follows orders, a judge or enforcer that adheres mercilessly to the word of the law, and a disciplined monk.

Characters of this alignment are neutral with regard to good and evil. This does not mean that Lawful Neutral characters are amoral or immoral, or do not have a moral compass, but simply that their moral considerations come a distant second to what their code, tradition, or law dictates. They typically have a strong ethical code, but it is primarily guided by their system of belief, not by a commitment to good or evil.

James Bond, Odysseus, and Sanjuro from Yojimbo are considered by Complete Scoundrel as Lawful Neutral.[7] Three exemplars of Lawful Neutral outsiders exist. These are the Formians, the Inevitables and the Modrons.

this game is exquisitely violent and evil. i don't feel very detached from it because the storytelling is the best yet.

hint for my fellow evil-doers: if you have the chance to kill the last of something, and you don't because they promised you power or something, wrong answer. you get tainted with light points and no extra power 😡

don't let other thoughts cloud your mind. they only serve to keep you from your goal. keep the faith 😛

If you mouse over the choices or if you go into options to can make it so it tells you which choice gives you dark or light points.

yeah, i know. i was choosing based on what i understood the context to be. i won't be making that mistake again.

anyway, i have sat still running my 3 splice bots at 49-50 for 1 hour, and i'm only breaking even now. 41-48 is the same. it seems the direct cash has finally dried up, although selling off crits and hacking safes should still do well. now to get artifice way up to take advantage of the augment harvesting.

Obsidian did a good job with that in KOTOR 2 with the influence system. I managed to bring both Visas and Handmaiden down with me to Dark Side Mastery. I don't think I quite managed to get them Light Side Mastery playing a Jedi, but they came close.

The affection system is interesting to play too though, since you can't always get the LS or DS points you want without annoying a companion.

I get the occasional green triangles across the sky myself. Usually only lasts a split second though. Always has to do with those green lights/lasers attatched to some item that you'll occasionally see laying around. Never had the green bars across the screen though.

My girlfriend is the same way. She feels bad about doing some dark side things, so she doesn't do any.

Not me! I've done horrible, horrible things to people. Ya gotta be in the Star Wars mindset: even if someone is functionally the same overall humanoid as you, if they can't best you in a fight they are lesser beings who deserve fewer rights 😛

My main is a jedi, but I do have a sith sorcerer. Just couldnt bring myself to go dark side though. Think I have 100 dark points total, and something like 700 light points. I do, however, talk some smack when points aren't involved though 😀

On a different note, I finally downloaded the android security app, and registered it. Then went to take a look at at what the security code vendor was selling. There was a full set of moddable light armor on sale there, which looks like a Princess Leia bikini. I about fell out of my chair laughing. I think if I ever have enough money to burn on mod components, my companion Kira Carsen is going to go for that look 😛

I had another bad day today was a long 2 hour grind quest doing a mission and one of the NPC bosses killed me on Hoth, that was to be expected as the other players had already killed him as a group and left so I had nobody to group with, even worst on the way to the mission point I was fighting a normal NPC mob when 3 sith PvP flagged players somehow got me flagged for PvP?...I thought wtf all I was trying to do was my quest and not even PvP flagged (on a PvE server btw)until they somehow got me PvP flagged plus they were 3 levels above me as well, anyway it was enough that I've quitted TOR for good never going back.

I tried hard to get into this game but in the end the game/frustration etc beat me.

Too much frustration and other things for me to even think about paying for this game.

Back to EQ2 and Skyrim for me, this is my last post in this thread.

I've heard there's a bug where pvp flagged enemies can be hit by your AoEs, causing you to be flagged so they can kill you.

I saw this last night. I dueled a bounty hunter in a town and their aoe hit a guard and like five level 50 champions came and killed her 😛

I'll give you, like, 20 bucks for your ToR account.

c/mon, prolly some agro bug. take a break it will get sorted.

SWTOR is not a game one can just breeze through. I was having quite a time with my level 34 Sorc until I learned how to play properly. Players cannot go spam only dps abilities and expect success. Also, keeping the companions geared up is very important.

Keeping your companions geared is very important. However, on my marauder my level 40 top tier talent is so good that All I really spam is it plus one or two others when necessary...

It took me a while to figure out how to properly compare stuff for my companion, so he was under-geared for quite a while. I find it a bit annoying that the comparison only works when you already have something equipped in that slot, if you have nothing equipped in a particular slot it does not show anything, even if you are able to equip that item. Would be nice if it just showed the upgrade/downgrade for all items you are able to equip.
