is there a Drop Hack out?

i was in a 2v2 with a friend of mine, and we were on ventrilo.
as soon as the game began, they started talking shit non-stop, not focusing on the game and within 15 seconds from start, i was disconnected.

my friend was still in the game, and we were both still connected to vent and talking to each other, so it wasn't my connection, nor was it battle.net.
he didn't stick around seeing that it was pointless to stay so he left.

it was as if they were taunting us, and the DC'd one of us to get us to leave for the easy win. pretty ghey if you ask me.

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while. If you are not listed on the player list and would like to be added. Please send me a PM in the same format as the OP so I can quickly update it sometime today.

Have a replay for any interested to comment on. I'm Silence, my partner is Jay.

A few points:
Opponents were significantly ahead of us until ~15:00 into the game. We had moved out several times with MM and were countered each time, but kept pushing and pushing and finally were able to gain the advantage. Watching the replay solidifies that feeling - had they scouted they would have realized we had very little at our base. I don't know exactly how we were able to break out (m/m vs mixed terran and protoss forces).

Additionally - I was playing tired and rather sloppily but at the time felt my macro was at least keeping up; I didn't have a mineral surplus for much of the game. Any insight as to how I can improve from here would be greatly appreciated.

add'l notes:
Protoss macro after the midpoint seems especially bad - was that the lynchpin for this game? Or was it Red terran's insistence on building Thors vs continued m/m?

Wow, I just had a TvT that I should have lost. My opponent was up 2 bases and I was just rebuilding my natural expansion after losing it, and my main was mined out. But the guy just kept blowing his units trying to push into my tank line. After I got my income back up and running I massed Vikings and harassed the shit out of his expos, eventually winning.

You need to go into a practice game and practice your build order. Everything is very, very late in the beginning. Send your SCVs early so they arrive when you have enough minerals--it's better to arrive early than arrive late.

Most of the unit production is late, there will be gaps where you have enough minerals but wait to start an SCV or marine. This little bit of delay might be negligible in the mid-late game but at the start it is very significant (and also easy to fix).

If you fix your timings I think that you will find early pushes may be more successful. You'll have a better economy, more units, and everything will finished sooner.

thanks for the advice, will try that tonight. I grabbed one of those YABOT (build order) custom maps, maybe it'll help me track things.

On a side note, am I missing something or is it difficult to create custom maps that you've downloaded to your computer? I don't have "custom" in the dropdown menu for map selection, only "Blizzard Maps", "Popular", "Recently Played" and "My Published"..

You basically summed it up. Use google. This is heavly discussed at some places. Only maps hosted on blizzard servers can be played. (very different from sc1).
On a very simplified manner it's basically impossible with the current system to make custom maps popular and hence they don't appear in the list and noone plays them.

Is anyone else having serious issues with the VOIP? If I play the campaign or any MP matches, then try to pick up my friends, none of them can hear me and I can't hear them. I will exit SC, come back in, change nothing, and suddenly we're lima-charlie on our voice chat. I suppose it's a minor issue, but we spent like 15 minutes last night trying to troubleshoot the voice chat system to no avail. F-ing frustrating.

VOIP has issues, doesn't work for some people and works fine for others. I think blizz mentioned that they are trying to fix the problem.

Don't have the links in front of me but there are plenty of threads on the bnet forums. (paraphrasing from memory) When you see a person with a lot of games with no points they are using a drop hack. 1v1 it gives some "game can't be resolved" message and lists it as a tie (think it still dings you for points though).

There is also rampant use of maphacks and the like. I had 3 I verified via replay Sunday. (check youtube for examples)

Edit here's a maphack vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBOrDptVtak

Yah i know about fog-or-war hack. Apparently its something blizzard can't fix without making a huge change to game according to the guys who use it.

Well for Multi-Player we have to be connected to bnet anyway so the could implement somekind of hack detector. But that does not generate any money...
The main issue is, that obviously everything is in your comps memory, also what your opponent is doing and hidden by fog of war. So if you access that memory you can get the according info. I assume if you know your stuff, it is not really that hard to create a hack.

They have a heck detector, it's called Warden, it works by flagging hackers and then waiting and mass banning them all so that they don't know which hack etc set off the detection program. It was turned on recently and Blizz just posted about it.
