Too many closeups of Tobey trying to be emotional!!

QFT. and i actually like jared leto. but anyway, i'd give the movie a big MEH. the emo part was so retarded...the first time he pulled his hair down over his forehead in the mirror, the entire theater erupted in laughter.

Well, sound waves doesn't kill it, it only sort of stuns it. Spiderman traps Venom in a ring of polls which he runs around banging sort of like giant tuning forks, driving the symbiote on Brock insane and it starts to pull off of Brock. Spiderman then snares Brock with his web and pull him out of the ring while the symbiote remains trapped inside, almost able to take form without a host it seems (has a Venom-like head and has a sort of primitive body). Spiderman then grabs a pumpkin bomb (because Harry showed up to help) and arms it and throws it at the symbiote. Brock doesn't want to give up the power so he dives in vain after it along with the pumpkin bomb and we see the bomb explode and Brock vaporized much like the Oscorp execs in the first movie (where the flesh goes bye-bye and even the skeleton turn to dust). A lot of debris goes flying and I could swear I saw some little bit of symbiote survive.

I think it is quite clear that symbiote/Brock Venom is dead, but I could see them bringing back the symbiote if there are any future movies.

I saw it last night and thought it was alright. I loved the special effects and Venom just looked awesome, right down to Eddie Brock's teeth. I did notice though that Mary Jane's answer machine message was different the second time, she didn't say "beep" right before the actual beep.

First day gross estimate on Spiderman 3 is $59M, shattering all single day records. :Q

Yes!! He was doing all the things I would've done. Also the police chief's daughter that he took out to the club is way hotter then MJ! Overall thought it was meh, not as good as the other 2. GF loved it tho, probably because of all the romance stuff.

loved it, moved fast and I don't get the too many stories comment...

I thought they wrapped everything up quiet nicely.

I loved it as well! Nicely said! The money it is making now and will be making over the weekend will show how much people really loved it! I know its not everything but it should do pretty well at the box office even with Shrek 3.

im bummed about the symbiote. It better still be alive. It looked like a few parts were alive after the explosion, plus Dr. Connors still has a small part he was studying. Whether or not that is enough to take control of someone, who knows. But they basically destroyed the concept of having Venom and Carnage alive together. So we can't see Venom and Spidey work together. I am hoping that Carnage will somehow come into the light in 4 or 5. I wonder if The Lizard will be a villain at all in the movies.

They just made Peter way too emotional and fake. The parts where he acted as though he was God's gift to earth was hilarious and so fake. They could have painted him in another light instead of dimwitted thinking LOL IM THE BEST!

Spider Man 3 has got to be the worst movie I've seen in a while. Dragged on too long, and overall polished crap. I wanted my money back :|

Clanging against metal pipes to keep him at bay and used one of the green goblin's punkin' bombs.

Too bad Gwen Stacy should've died in Spiderman 1 :p.

I think a lot of people are bashing this from the eyes of an action movie instead of a comic book adaptation ( which it still messes up things from ). The Spiderman comic is kind of cheesy with the jokes and such which are brought into the movie with the same kind of air. Spiderman isn't The Hulk, you won't see pure action 24/7. Personally I just went in expecting to see Spiderman and I got what I wanted. If I want action, I'll go see Live Free Die Hard (which I will be seeing :p)...

Oh and as an amusing note, Spiderman is already available for download as a Telesync :p. The quality is pretty good on it too heh.

the part where he went "emo" was way to long. they could have cut it down by half and still got the point across.

as for Venom he is not dead. if its anything l ike the comic it is going to take far more then that to kill him.

I watched it today, and let me say that I'm glad I'm not a complete comic book nerd like some of you guys, because I thought the movie was completely entertaining. I don't care if it followed the comic book story. Some parts are a little dry, but what do you expect for a 2+ hour movie? Besides, I actually liked the 3 villians, because it turns into a very nice 2-on-2 fight at the end. Venom was bad-ass, and the only thing I was sad about is the possibility of Venom not being in anymore Spiderman movies, although we'll even see how any further entries into the series turn out if they can't keep the regular cast and director on board.

Atleast we now know what Thomas Haden Church has been doing since Wings went off the air years ago. That son of a bitch has been in the gym!

the general review from my friends and i is that it was good, but the worst of the 3.

someone told us Venom was lame looking, but he was pretty awesome. the green goblin's tech suit was also cool looking.

I think Venom was one of the few things that didn't look like crap in the movie.

The movie was horrible. The franchise/series/whatever is dead. The black stuff was supposed to make him meaner, not g@yer.

Horrible.

It really, really, sucked.

I went in with relatively low expectations, and it failed to even meet those.

Our group was pretty disappointed in it. I won't say it was "bad", but it certainly didn't live up to my expectations. The villains just seemed so lackluster. I remember hearing back at the beginning of the development that Sam Raimi, who never liked or understood the Venom character, was coerced into using him by the management because all the fans were screaming for him. His complete lack of interest in the character showed through pretty clearly, in my opinion. A whole 10-15 minutes of screentime... boo.

At least it wasn't as bad as X-Men: The Last Stand. :p

This movie was great. I loved it more than the first two. I think they did an excellent job. I hope the cast and everybody will be back for more.

Anyway I liked it, but I'm disappointed too. Nowhere near as good as Spider-Man 1 and 2. However it wasn't as bad as XMen: The Last Stand (thankfully). Should have left Venom out, and I hope if there is a Spider-Man 4 we don't see anymore symbiotes. I thought Sandman was good, and "emo" Parker was ok for awhile. Some of those scenes went on forever though.

I think one of my major disappointments about this was the pace and how much stuff was crammed into the film. Venom wasn't really Venom to me. I don't know how they could have done it better though. Also the ending? Didn't like it, nuff said.

Did anyone else feel like this story should have been 2 movies?

I feel the same way as you about it. I think there were too many funny parts for a Spiderman movie and they were misplaced on top of all that. I also agree about the X-Men thing - that movie was about a 3/10. I'd give this one a 6/10. Oh well...at least they've enticed me to see "Balls of Fury" and "Rush Hour 3" via previews.
