The new Astro Bot levels are decently tough but I was able to clear them.

The last one, Megamix Mastery is really difficult. Took me like three hours to get it right. It's like Grand Master Challenge in length (my time was 2:11) but more difficult.

Kind'a wish I had gotten the PS5 Pro instead of the vanilla version.

Anyway, finally gotten around to playing Lies of P's DLC (Overture), and decided to pick it up for the PS5 because of the sale where both the main game & DLC for $58. It appears the game was enhanced for the Pro and I would have been able to play it on quality settings with at least a 60 FPS throughout. This would have been great!

By the way, the game is fantastic and I couldn't recommend it enough. In my view, it's an amazing effort especially given it's R8's not only first game, but the best Soulslike game of them all.

Just as with SOTE, many have complained of the game's difficulty and it appears the devs may have nerfed some of the game before I had gotten a chance to play it. In its present state, while the game is challenging, it certainly isn't "too" hard, and, in my estimation, probably a little easier than ER's DLC. Avid fans of this genre using their preferred weapon should have little trouble progressing, though, of course, the boss fights are complex, challenging and really fun. The story is just amazing!

The final boss is pretty spectacular and quite a spectacle. It's probably one of the three most challenging bosses (especially Mano on Mano) of any fighting game I've ever played.

PS - The Two Dragon Sword (a katana that parries and heavy attacks simultaneously at the apogee of its twirl) is my favorite weapon of all time in any fighting game. This thing when used correctly makes almost all fights a breeze.

Sorny is raising the price of the PS5.

DE = $499, Disc = $549, Pro = $749.

Goes into effect tomorrow.
Fucking President Dotard. His tariffs are the main reason I got my Switch 2 in July, to beat dipshit's August 1st tariffs. I hate whenever I buy something significant I have to think would I have bought this now if anyone else was president?

Nintendo probally set the S2's price at $450 to account for the tariffs.

Nintendo's statement in their August 3rd notice of price increases made it sound like they'll be coming to Switch 2 before too long. I definitely expect it to be $500 by January 1st.

I think that was them just being coy in case the tariffs increase in Vietnam. I believe Sony assembles US-bound PS5 in Vietnam too.

Forgot how much the pro was when I purchased it. Honestly should turn it on to see if it still works. I also had to buy a disc drive. Finally finished death stranding on PC so I'll have a reason to play 2 now on the Pro. I think the original price was $699?

Everything went up as the cost is just passed down to the consumers thanks to tariffs.

It's kind of unprecedented with console prices going up and not down.

cost reductions have slowed for technology in general, but those that did occur were also offset in part by inflation occurring during and after the COVID pandemic. Companies struggling to hit guidances for revenue will also be more reluctant to discount products.

Historically gaming was a growth market, but that too has started to plateau so companies can't count on sales to new customers to drive revenue growth.

Nope. When the $450 price was announced, Nintendo said it was unrelated to the proposed tariffs.

I don't think people really understand tariffs or how they work. If the price is only going up in the U.S. then it's most likely because of tariffs (currency devaluation being the other likely culprit) but if the higher or increased costs are comparable across several markets then it's unlikely to be related to tariffs as those rates would not have changed for other countries.

The PS5 price changes are just for the U.S. and are likely the result of tariffs. The price increases that Microsoft made earlier this year and the higher price from Nintendo were more universal.

Could also be like what Walmart is doing is spreading around the increased costs to everything they carry so as to not piss Trump off by making the products directly tariffed easy to spot. If Sony/XBox/Nintendo raise everyone's prices it doesn't make Trump look as bad. Plus customers around the world have been conditioned to be ok with price increases when US price goes up since before President Dotard we had the cheapest consumer goods in the world here. Captialists will use any excuse to make us eat price bumps.

Been playing Silksong now... I love the art style but yeah it's very hard. Boss I am on, I think they nerfed him in the first patch slightly but still kicking my butt.

Yeah Silk Song is incredible but definitely tough. I find it tough but fair though. The boss I am at now, The Last Judge, has such a long hike to get to each time you die so I just went back to do some of the side quests instead. I'm playing it on Switch.

Didn't mention there was a State of Play... Returnal 2, er, I mean Saros was the main game shown. Well, unless you like Marvel games.

Saros does look kind of cool but it's going to get blown away by GTA 6.

I am at this point now... and doing side quests instead is what I am doing.

As it turns out though, there's apparently a Secret entrance in Sinner's Road which eventually leads to being able to complete Act 1without needing to defeat Last Judge. We'll see how difficult this path is.

I found Sinner's Road but I ended up just beating the Last Judge. She's really not that tough once you figure out her moves and when you can and can't go in and hit her. Once I realized I can't rush it and was taking my time, it became much easier.

I also changed up my gameplan from always using the charged move because that doesn't build much silk at all, so after I healed, I would use the normal attacks to build up my silk and once I had enough to heal, I would go back to charge attacks.
