Please tell NCIX not to offer rebates on OCZ RAM anymore if they're not going to honor their rebates.

Anyway, the 3700+ socket 754 on an Asus K8N4-E Deluxe works with a 1T command rate. Sweet. :)

Hi Ryder,
I am hitting the same HTT wall with 1T or 2T command rate and with anything ranging from 2-2-2-8 to 3-4-4-10 timings. I initially tried the sticks in DIMM 3 and 4 and the results were slightly worse so I moved them to 1 and 2. I am running a modded version of the 1.D BIOS for the Neo 2 platinum. Out of curiosity, what ICs are on those sticks? I could try to find a BIOS optimized for that RAM IC type then.

It's a bit bizarre with the HTT thing. It is completely rock solid at super low timings at 279HTT (180Mhz DDR speed), but even 1MHz HTT over that and I can't get it to boot without dropping to about 145Mhz RAM speed..
The only thing that I can surmise is that the 2GB load on the board is limiting the HTT speed.

These modules us Infineon/Aeneon BE or CE-5 IC's

Follow-up:

I finally got a PCI-E video card and a DFI SLI-DR Expert to go with it and while the RAM still seems to hit a 145Mhz wall at CAS 2, at CAS 2.5 it is now running nicely at 225Mhz. Thanks for your help!

I've got a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and a "Ocz Gold Xtc PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-12 240PIN Dimm Dual Channel Memory Kit" coming in the mail. Price on the memory was too good to pass.

I've read some stories about this combo. Am I In for a bad experience?

Hi, glad to see this thread(found it on google). I have the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and 2x 512mb of OCZ ddr2800 Gold, and even after updating the bios to the f4 bios it still will not boot with the memory. Luckily I have a slow stick of 256mb corsair value which is working. Just above you said that it would work, however I can attest to the fact that it is not working for me. An suggestions? Thanks in advanced for your help.

hi, ocz folks

ordered 2 set of ocz platinum edition pc2-6400 xtc el ddr2 ram 2gb kit (4-5-4-15) from outpost and got them delivered today, in the package there is only 1 set of ocz platinum xtc and the other one is ocz gold edition pc2-6400 xtc (5-5-5-12), now according to their return policy i have to obtain a rma# then ship them back (from australia) at my own expenses.

and my question is, after double paying the shipping already plus not being eligible for any rebate and now i have to pay for someone else's booboo for sending me the wrong product, is there a better way to resolve this?

cheers

Jason

You need to take that up with Outpost....it sounds like they pulled the wrong product and put it in the box. You just need to tell them that they made a mistake in packing the order.

Hi

Are you using the f4 original bios or the f4c version? If you have not already tried the f4c version I would give that a try as it works very well with almost all memory out on the market today

You can find a download link in this thread

What timings are you looking for specifically? Your memory is rated at 5-5-5-15 timings at 2.1V. As you overclock higher above stock speed you'll need to loosen the timings.

This thread has some other info that may interest you.

I tried the f4c bios per your reccommendation, to no avail. I also tried many other different version up to f6b. Continuous reboots with them all.. no post even just 2 second reboots. Anything you can do for me, or anymore advice before I decide to RMA the sticks to newegg?

What are your timings and vdimm set to?

Looks like the rated volts on that RAM is 2.0v. You said you had a cheap stick that would work, right? Boot up with that, and go to BIOS and set your VDIMM to +0.2v, save and shutdown, then swap out the RAM and try to boot.

Just tired that, and still no boot. I imagine that when you swap ram and reboot that the ram settings go back to default due to the new spd table. Thanks for the suggestion though.

That's the thing though, don't leave your RAM settings on AUTO. Switch it to manual and it won't read it by SPD. Then try those settings and give it a try.

I did take it off of auto when I did that and when I put the cheap ram back in it still had the overvoltage setting on, so come to think of it the overvoltage was applied to the ocz mem

Well unless someone else has a suggestion, I think it's time for an RMA :(

I agree. Looks like it's time to RMA.

If it makes you feel any better my Gigabyte DS3 died 10 minutes after I turned it on....so at least you have a working board :)

Hey Ryder,

Following up from Microair's question could you do me and I'm sure alot of other people out there a big favour and tell me what IC's are used in the 2x1GB DDR2 800 Platinum set (OCZ2P8002GK) and their rev 2 counterparts? You've specified they're different but in every other thread I've found where this question is being asked to either Steve or yourself, the answer is don't know or will check it out. I'm suspecting it's because the rev 2 IC's ARE actually Micron which means the rev 1 chips are most likely Elpida. Can you please confirm? (If you are able to, wink wink) You know the reason people are asking this question is because with all the praise going around for Micron IC's people are wanting to hear that they are indeed Micron IC's used in the rev 1 Platinum, and I'm suspecting that's why the answer is still a mystery.

And yes, I ordered a kit of OCZ2P8002GK (rev 1) yesterday am starting to get cold feet about my decision...
