Just wanted to update here, as I've shot a few emails your way without response.

I've still only received the 'form' reply from the RMA department with a number and instructions on returning both sticks of ram. I've not found any way to get info on cross-shipping or advanced replacement, or just returning the single bad stick. I really can't be without this system for a period of weeks, so...any update would be appreciated.

Well, 11/1 and 11/2 have now come and gone, and still no contact.

Honestly, this is becoming more than a little frustrating. Hearing "No, we can't do advanced replacement, and you must send both sticks back" would suck*, but at least it would be SOMETHING.

To hear NOTHING, though, day after day after day....it's really quite frustrating. It's now been more than a week since you emailed me to say that someone would contact me, and I've heard not a peep.

(* To be clear, it would suck a LOT. I work from home every night, I cannot be without a system. If these are the only options, I'm going to have to buy some replacement ram to use, and I'll just sell the OCZ sticks when the RMA is returned to me.)

There can be any number of reasons for no response, the OCZ mails from the office could be getting chewed up by a spam filter somewhere, etc.

Please email me your RMA form and I will get it handled today.

hey guys, I sent in a MIR for the 5-4-5-15 OCZ PLAT XTC ram, in lijke september? no sign of it still... wondering if theres a place I can contact about that.
 
what timings could i set my ram and how much can i overclock it so its stable at like 3.6ghz cuz it crashes once the desktop is loaded.....i got it at 800MHZ with 4 4 4 12 2T voltage is 2.15v and i can go up to 3.5ghz....ive been posting this question but no one has answered me yet...i hope u guys can help me...thanks

Weird Windows/Memory Problem

System: e6600/S3 F4/OCZ Platinum Rev 2 (DDR2-800) - No OC

My bios has this memory running at 5-5-5-15 while the specs claim 4-4-4-15. So, I manually changed it to 4-4-4-12 and increased vDIMM to 2.0. Memtest ran for 9+ hrs without any errors.

The problem is when the system is set to standby, it never comes out of it with a simple power button press. I have to disconnect PSU's cord and reattach before it will even start. No beeps from the machine during this blank process.

So, I changed my timings to 4-4-4-15 and the problem still persists. OTOH, if I let my MB choose the timings, the machine comes out of standby without any issues.

What is going on here? Do I have some defective memory or do I need to flash a new version of bios?
 
Have you tried clearing your CMOS using the motherboard jumper? Something may be set wrong in the bios and that would clear it up. After you reset the bios you can set the timings and voltage again manually

i just got 2 stick of 1G OCZ Platinum 6400 (non-rev2) ram over the weekend, and so far, i got 3 questions in need of your help

1. i was wondering what is the difference between non-rev2 and rev2? OCZ site listed rev2s as the dual channel, so does that mean non-rev2s cannot support dual channel? also, do you have performance data/comparison for these two modules? (kinda curious about what i am missing out by not getting the rev2s)

2. i have a Biostar 965PT MB, and i was told it's not very good with it's "AUTO" timing settings, so could you recommend a complete timing table for the modules i got? i plan to use memset to configure

3. memtest170: i had it running at 2.1v 4-4-4-12 @ 333FSB overnight and came out with 24 errors, so i went to 5-5-5-15 2.2v @ 333fsb before i left for work, will check when i get home. could you explain where under memtest i need to go to get a better understanding about the errors? is there anything i could do to eliminate these errors?

i have E4300 so i am planning to run my system at 333fsb

your advise is appreciated, thanks!

Some damn great info you have provided..... I just purchased (2x1gb) OCZ PC-3200 Ram Model: OCZ4002048PFDC-K Dual Channel Kit. I am going to be putting this in an Asus A7N8X Deluxe MoBo Ver2 and 1.008 Bios. Can you provide me with the best settings to use, I sure would appreciate it.

2GB in that NF2 board is going to be a tough job unless you have flashed to the CPC off bios.

You should use the Blue slots and set the timings as:

CAS = 3
Trcd = 3
Trp = 3
Tras = 11

with 2.7 - 2.8V for the ram.

Also try setting the AGP voltage to 1.6V which will give the memory controller a bit more juice for those big sticks.

Not sure what you mean by "Flashed to the CPC off Bios"?

BTW... I am not really into overclocking, I just wanted the extra memory to help with the RB6 Vegas game I have.
