Hi Steve.

I realize this may be a little off topic ... but do you know if the OCZ 4GB Secure Digital Flash Media (OCZSD133-4GB) is compatible with the Palm Treo 700w? I've searched around the web and haven't found anyone that has posted about this SD Card working in the Treo 700w.

BTW: the 4 GB kit for my ASUS A7N8X motherboard should be delivered today so I'll get to try it out tonight.

Thanks for your assistance.

I couldn't find any info about the Palm Treo 700w and 4GB memory cards. The last time I checked there was still no industry standard for 4GB SD cards. Some devices are limited to 2GB's. I would email the company to ask if they have any size restrictions and go from there :)

I am thinking of putting OCZ2P8002GK sticks in an M2n32-sli deluxe wireless edition mobo with an amd4600+ am2 cpu. I have heard people have been having compatibility issues with this type of ram. Have they released any new firmware to resolve the problem? How well do you think I can overclock with this setup? Sorry if this has been covered already.

OCZ support staff,
Do you know if the following OCZ RAM are fully compatible with ASUS motherboards(ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe and ASUS P5B Deluxe) running Conroe?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227124 (Ideally my first choice)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820227030

And what is so "special" about this RAM besides the heatspreader?

What warrants the name "Special Operating Edition"?

I'm an oldie upgrading from my Northwood and OCZ PC3700 Gold to a Conroe and whatever good PC2 6400 RAM I can find.

Yes they have a new bios, check the Asus site for the 603 or the 703.

Also you can look here for a few tips about the board: http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22229

Special Ops Edition is just the heatspreader, as in Special Ops in the Military, hence the Camo look :)

We just got the P5B and P5W and we have not fully tested the ram yet, I can't give you a definite Yes/No answer at this time which sticks are going to work the best on either of them. Mid - Late next week sometime I should have more info.

What are the memory chips used on this 2GB DDR2 kit: OCZ2P800R22GK

Thanks.

I don't know what chips are on these sticks. Since I'm involved with support I don't usually know what IC's are on the sticks. I will try to find out, but it may take a bit

Thanks Steve. The Treo 700w uses the Windows Mobile OS and can use 4GB SD cards. If I take the chance on the OCZ SD card and it doesn't work ... can the card be returned? I'd take 2 of your 2GB SD cards in exchange. <g>

And on the other topic I have been working with you on ... I received the 2GB Dual Channel Kit PN- OCZ4002048PFDC-K and installed it in my system. The A7N8X Deluxe motherboard booted right up and Windows XP Pro recognized the 2GBs of memory. Great! But now I want to know about how to optimize my BIOS memory settings. I didn't change them from what I had been using for the GEIL Golden Dragon PC3200 256MB memory modules. I'm running in Dual Channel mode with the following settings in BIOS:

Memory Frequency is 100% (which equals 200 MHz)
SDRAM Active Precharge Delay - 6
SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay - 3
SDRAM RAS Precharge Delay - 3
SDRAM CAS Latency - 2.5T
DDR Reference Voltage - 2.7V

Any recommendations or warnings?

Thanks!

I'm getting ready to put together a new Conroe system and your support is making me believe there will be OCZ Ram in the new system!

If the 4GB card doesn't work we can indeed set you up with 2x2GB cards. As for the memory you have it's rated at 3-3-3-7 timings. If the memory boots and runs stable at cas 2.5 then you're doing quite well :)

Let me know before the OCZ rebate ends please and not after.
And by before I mean at least 24hrs in advance (not the same day the deal ends) ;)

I haven't heard any reports about ASUS 975X deluxe motherboards(or any 975X motherboard for that matter) suffering from the same >1.8v booting problems...
If there is, that will be interesting.

*EDIT*
Tony (from your support forums) recommended "6400plat rev2" when asked for a suggestion of RAM for the ASUS 975X chipset.

Is Tony an OCZ employee, and is it garanteed to work on that paticular motherboard?

Tony is an OCZ employee and as I said, we have not had the P5W or P5B installed to test everything on yet.
The recommendation is the 6400 Plat Rev 2, can I say that I guarantee that it will run as designed? The answer is no because we have not tested it or any other kit fully on the board.

Hi,

I bought last week this OCZ DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit (OCZ2P800R22GK), to use on the new rig with the Core 2 and a Gigabyte DQ6 bios F3e (F3g available but worse for me).

I'm able to run an E6400 at 3.2GHz (8x400) @ 1.37V, the OCZ runs at 800@1.95V with 4-4-4-15 (as per specs). I can leave the system running for 16 hours with 2 x Prime95 or Orthos, no issues.

I've never had an issue during boot with this memory. I did learn that I have to keep Vdim equal or lower than 1.95V - anything above it will cause Prime95 to fail. The ram can take 2.1~2.2 as per specs, but it doesn't seen to like it.

As I would like to run FSB a bit higher, I tried running the memory at 850 (FSB 425) 5-5-5-15, but it fails also after a couple of minutes. Reducing CPU multi helps it, but that's not the ideal (CPU is king).

As lots of people talk about cheap ram running high FSB with "relaxed timings" and 2.2V, I would like to know from the OCZ experts if you are familiar with this memory and what kind of potential/flexibility it has. I just want a ballpark figure on how much faster can this ram go with "relaxed timings", not a commitment.

Do you have any tips that could help? Any specific bios settings for this ram?

Thanks in advance / have a nice weekend !

Hi Steve,

I looking to buy the "OCZ EL DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz / Enhanced Latency / Platinum XTC Edition / Dual Channel", can you please look at my specs and let me know if the ram will be compatible with it:

Motherboard (haven't bought yet so don't know the BIOS version): ASUS P5W-DH Deluxe
Powersupply: Antec TP3-650 ATX12V 650W
Video Card: ATI 100-714800 All-In-Wonder Radeon X1900 256MB w/ Tuner

Also, if you can just summarize what is the difference between Revision 2 and above listed ram.

Thanks.

Hi, I have the DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 plat edition 2x1gig ram.
My heatspreaders are coming off, any suggestions to get them to stay on?

They are falling off both sides of both sticks? The only thing we can do is replace them with a new set. I would suggest you not try using glue or anything else to stick them back on.

Please let me know what you'd like to do

Its only on one ram stick, i wasnt sure if you sold some sort of clips to hold them on better. I am very satisfied with the ram and really cant send them in because it would render my computer useless. Let me know if there are clips or something i can get. My only concern is that if it falls off, does my warranty get voided?
Not that big a deal, just thought i would ask.

Hi Steve,

I bought 2 weeks ago this OCZ DIMM 2 GB DDR2-800 Kit (OCZ2P800R22GK), to use on the new rig with the Core 2 and a Gigabyte DQ6 bios F3.

Can this Kit work above DDR2-800 with relaxed timings? Can you please tell what to expect?

Thanks in advance !

I don't know how well this motherboard overclocks, but the memory should indeed be good for more speed about DDR2-800

Steve,

Whats the major diff between the "OCZ EL DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800 MHz / Enhanced Latency / Platinum XTC Edition / Dual Channel" and its Revision 2?

Good question. The timings, voltage and heatspreader all seem to be the same so the only thing I can think of is a new IC in the rev 2 sticks. I don't deal with production so I don't know off hand which IC's are in either.

The IC is different and the timings are 4-4-4 at DDR-800 instead of 4-5-4 on the Rev 1

OCZ2P8002GK = 4-5-4-x at 2.1V

OCZ2P800R22GK = 4-4-4 at 2.1V
