ERIC i'm having problems with the rma. I got the replacement today but it's not what it's suppose to be

I sent back a 2 gb gold xtc kit ( 2x1gb dual channel )

What I got back was a 1gb single gold xtc stick.. not a dual stick not to mention the Dual Platinums you told me I would get upgraded to since the dual channel gold xtc wasn't in stock.

I mentioned to you that the RMA screen said it was only 1gb stick and you told me that I should get back what I rma'd.

Well I rma'd the 2gb dual channel kit and got back not the platinum eb as promised but 1gb gold single stick.

I sent you an email this morning/early afternoon and haven't heard a response.
Let me know what's happening.

I'm using the OCZ Platinum dual channel kit (2x1G) rated at 2-3-2-5 with 2.6v to 2.8v. I've been running them at these timings with 2.65v since I purchaced them earlier this year. I ran memtest for 8 hrs after I installed them with no errors.

The problem: I was playing runescape and got a BSOD that blamed a driver. Upon rebooting, I started getting ram r/w errors during POST showing that I only had 64MB of ram.

What I've done so far is (For ease I'll refer to the sticks as S1 & S2):
1. Removed S2 & tried to boot. - Same problem as above
2. Removed S1 & put S2 in that slot - Passed POST, showing 1024 of ram.
3. Put S1 in the slot that I orginally had S2 in - Same problem as above
4. Moved both sticks to the other 2 slots - Same problem as above
5. Removed S1, then moved S2 to different slots - Passed POST showing 1024 of ram each time.

At this point I'm thinking some how S1 has went bad. Is there anything I may have overlooked before I call for a RMA?

OK, I posted a message a while back asking if 2GB OCZ Platinum RAM would work at 1T command rate with a socket 754 Clawhammer 3700+. Well, I found out that it does. Everything works.

Is Memtest the better test to use to test it? How do you use it?

Anyway, I noticed something odd in CPUz though. It says CAS 2 in one part and SPD of CAS 2.5. Huh? What is going on?

v1.65 of memtest from www.memtest.org is what we use.

The SPD is programmed at CAS 2.5, as long as the memory tab of CPU-z is displaying CAS = 2...then you have it set right.

Okay, I've been having a whole bunch of problems with my PC (see thread here), and my testing has resulted in finding an obviously faulty (at least IMO) stick of RAM. Wow. Seems like everything I own is breaking.

Anyhow, I sent an e-mail to steve and ryder, but just thought I'd post here to see if I got a response quicker. Thanks

So when is this thread scheduled to be unstickied? :p

And this cpu forum had little use to me until the new Conroe came around. I just think that you guys should purchase banners. I will give you credit for not attempting to viral market your products though.

I sent it again with my non OCZ email. If you get it and send the form in, mention to them you can't receive emails from OCZ addresses
