Just wanted to say thanks steve, I didn't have to wait long for a response. And the great support and service will keep me buying your products.I went to the markham location today, dropped off my memory. They actually didn't have any of the PC3200EL chips on hand. So they gave me a pair of PC4000EB .

Only question I have now is this memory will run 250FSB at 3-3-2-8 1t. I have it like that right now everything is running great. With my previous sticks tho I was running a 280 FSB at a 150 memory divider at 2-3-2-10 1t. Now this new memory I can't seem to boot at that high of a FSB. Any suggestions for this board and memory configuration. I would like to be able to have a higher CPU speed than 2.5 ghz, cause I know a64 perform better with higher cpu speeds. at 250FSB I am enjoying the extra memory bandwidth tho, getting like 6500/6500 in Sisoft. Which is alot better than the 5700 I was getting at 280x10 and memory around 200mhz.

Has anyone tested trying to use a stick of OCZ400512R2 and a stick of OCZ400512R3 together in dual-channel on the Asrock 939DUAL-SATA2 mobo? I had no issues using this combo at DDR400 (@ 2-3-3-6) in dual channel mode on my old NF7-Sv2, but I'm having major issues running this combo on the Asrock at anything higher than DDR266 (no idea what the AUTO timings are) and that's NOT in dual channel mode - that's the only way it boots reliably. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

July's OCZ Revolution check ;)

Sorry to badger you guys, it just seemed like it was going to be out a while ago, and there was quite a bit of stir swirling about it...I'm just really anxious to see it. Sorry if I'm being a pest :(

I haven't asked about it myself in over a month. I'll see what I can dig up tonight :)

Hi Guys,
I recently purchased this pair of 1GB sticks to replace my 4 512MB PC2700 sticks on the rig shown in my sig. With 4 sticks I was able to run my Neo 2 with an HTT of 290Mhz for a final clock of 2.61Ghz. With these OCZ sticks, I am not able to boothpast 279Mhz HTT unless I drop my mem divider down to 100Mhz, i.e. 145Mhz RAM speed. Tight or loose timings seem to have no effect on this. I already tried dropping the CPU multi to eliminate CPU stability as a variable and it didn't make a difference.

The RAM is able to run at advertised timings at stock PC3200 speeds only at or very near 200Mhz HTT at 1:1. At 279HTT with a RAM divider of 133Mhz, I am getting ~180Mhz on the RAM and it is rock solid even @ 2-3-2-8@1T. The loss of 100Mhz or so on the CPU OC kind of blunts the performance gains, though. Any ideas on how I can get back my HTT speed without dropping the RAM under 150Mhz?

With 4 sticks you were at 2T timings....with 2 sticks you are now running 1T, that could be holding you back in the HTT department.

Are you running in the 2 slots closest to the CPU? What bios are you running on the board?

Hi Ryder,
I am hitting the same HTT wall with 1T or 2T command rate and with anything ranging from 2-2-2-8 to 3-4-4-10 timings. I initially tried the sticks in DIMM 3 and 4 and the results were slightly worse so I moved them to 1 and 2. I am running a modded version of the 1.D BIOS for the Neo 2 platinum. Out of curiosity, what ICs are on those sticks? I could try to find a BIOS optimized for that RAM IC type then.

It's a bit bizarre with the HTT thing. It is completely rock solid at super low timings at 279HTT (180Mhz DDR speed), but even 1MHz HTT over that and I can't get it to boot without dropping to about 145Mhz RAM speed..

I have a x6800 (2933MHZ), working at 3333MHZ front side 1333 multiplier set to 10. Thats it anything more and the CPU is unstable in PRIME95 (core1, core0 is fine at 3500). Now using Super PI I can get 3600MHZ, so I then my thought is that using Prime95 is required. Also the CPU runs at about 70c when under full load, but even if I force cool it to 55c the CPU still fails at 3333MHZ my thought is that I got one bum x6800 since I have not heard of an OC less that 3500MHZ or so.

Bummed at spending $1200, on a 3333MHZ CPU.

Hi OCZ support guys ... I have a question about getting some new OCZ ram for an older computer that I'm giving my son. It has an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard and an AMD XP 3200+ processor. I want to upgrade to a 2 GIG ram kit so I can run it dual channel. Would this memory work with the system? Any chance of overclocking?

OCZ OCZP4002GK 2GB Kit DDR400 PC3200 Platinum XTC Edition Dual Channel Kit

Thanks!

These older boards are no fun with 512MB dimms or larger. The memory controllers in the boards simply do not cope well with them. Some motherboards will work fine at stock speed where others will not. The memory you have chosen should be fine, but to be honnest I think you would be better off going with out pc3200 performance kit. The NF2 motherboards cope better with larger dimms when the timings are looser.

If you install the memory and it is unstable let us know and we'll show you how to change a few things to clear up the problems :)

The only thing that I can surmise is that the 2GB load on the board is limiting the HTT speed.

These modules us Infineon/Aeneon BE or CE-5 IC's

Thanks Steve. I will take your advice and go the the memory you suggested:

2GB Dual Channel Kit PN- OCZ4002048PFDC-K

Should I anticipate some instability even with this memory ... or will it be loose enough for the A7N8X Deluxe motherboard.

Your support is great!!!

I just purchased a Gigabyte DS3 mobo, and a 2gb kit of OCZ Platinum PC2 6400(OCZ2P8002GK), and I have recently found that there may be some compatibility issues as far as the CAS latency goes. Can you or anyone tell me if this will be compatible (out of the box or with modifications)?

Thanks in advance..

Hmm, it does seem they changed the name to Cryo-Z...I found some more recent articles on it under that name from January. Interesting...

Honestly this thread has impressed me, I don't know why but I think I will go with OCZ products more now. Good Job. Hope I don't have to post here when I do ;-)

There is a new bios out for the DS3, bios version F4c, this bios greatly improves compatibility with ram. I highly recommend flashing to it.

You may have to boot with 1 stick of ram to get the board to post out of the box, then flash the bios and try both sticks.

Worked like a charm, thanks!
