OMFG, lose 4 straight, 9 straight including the regular season.

only score 3 goals in 4 games vs the Devils.

it would have been better just to not make the playoffs.

On the flip side the Devils have won 15 straight including the regular season. :)

Let's see if Ottawa can wrap things up tonight too.
How did it happen that NJ played their 4th game on the same day Ottawa plays their 5th?

NJ started a day later but had a two day break between games 3 and 4.

Damn, Buffalo is just not burying the numerous chances they have been given by Philly.
Buffalo is a superior team but just not playing up to their potential. They played really sloppy defense at some points of the game and their passing and puck handleing has just not been on the past two games. They need to get their act together or they are goners.
Philly had some cheesy goals in the third game, but that's how it works in this game.

If Buffalo doesn't win this game 5 at home on sunday afternoon then I think the series is lost for them.

I also think Biron needs to get between the pipes. Miller just doesn't look confident and is letting in some moronically easy goals.

Ottawa wins!

So, what should Ottawa do when Hasek is ready to come back? Emery's pretty hot. Do you risk putting in a cold goalie (even if it is Hasek?)

Why not?

That's the only way to see if Hasek can still do the job.

I say, try him out and see.

That's what I'm kind of thinking too... give him a game or two at the beginning of a series, and if he wins, stick with him.

W00T! Bye bye Preds! Now the Sharks wait to see who they play. Hey Melty, how does a best of 7 between the Oil and Sharks sound? ;)

Oiler fans, I have a question...

I flew back (to Detroit) from Chicago, with a couple of Edmonton fans (ok nuts...lol) and 4-5 radio guys from the Edmonton area. They were talking about throwing "Beef" on the ice. What was that all about?

I didn't see any of the last game (fortunately for me I guess) to see if they managed to do it... but am still wondering what it's all about.

Well, presuming Calgary knocks off Anaheim, then it'll be a battle of Alberta in round 2, so SJ will have to wait to play the Oilers until the western final.

Well, I'm still hoping for a Duck victory in that series, but yes, it looks like SJ will play Colorado in the second round at this point. This is starting to look like last season's playoffs for the Sharks. Win the first round 4 games to 1, play Colorado in the 2nd round, and potentially play the Flames in the Western finals. :)

I think they were refering to the Alberta beef. I heard something about that briefly on NHL Live on Sirius, but they didn't get into it too much.

John is exactly right... Alberta beef is what is being thrown on to the ice. :)

It's simply in response to the octopus being thrown on the ice at the Wings home games.

John: I don't want to think too far ahead... I am still of the mindset that the Wings / Oil series is going 7. I think they would either have each won the home games (5 and 6) but now perhaps they will each trade road wins. Of course, I'll settle for a home win tonight by the Oil :D

Wings are in denial right now though... basically saying it has been a series of bounces and luck for the Oilers. Personally, I hope they truly are in that mindset, because it will bite them in the ass tonight if they are. Take some responsibility and give some credit where it's due!!

Samps: Gotta like the way Miller bounced back!! ;)

Nice to see young tenders like Miller and Cam Ward making names for themselves...

*melty clutches Cam Ward rookie cards* :p

SHARKS SHARKS SHARKS SHARKS!

i sadly was hoping for dallas to knock off the avs, so the ducks and sharks could have potentially played in round 2 (assuming the oliers take out the red wings) so i could fight for the tickets down here. man i hate being a sharks fan in LA, i can't watch anything.

Nah, I'll be rooting for an Oil win tonight. Your boys should send Stevey Y into retirement in style!
