Crosby vs. Ovechkin, round 2 on Wednesday.

Maybe Ovechkin will tie Kovalchuk for the lead in scoring tonight. I would love to see him do that while playing against Sid. 🙂

Here I am. B's have been playing much better of late...just not scoring. Thomas has been awesome, and I hope Raycroft stays injured..

I predict Washington will win...and Ovechkin will have a hat trick.

You see the goal Primeau got the other night against Philly? Not quite Ovechkin goal material...but close...

Anyone catch the beginning of the Preds/Wings game? Somehow Johnson scored at 20:00 of the first. I don't know how that is possible.

B's up 1-0 at the end of the first. 🙂

Looks like a different team than when my Sharks played them a few weeks back. 😉

Yeah, Joe came back and brought the funk back with him... 😉

That game was just weird...it's like the fact Joe was thrown out (wrongly) took all the wind out of the wrong team...lol

Seriously though, the B's are much better of late, we are just scoring challenged a bit. It's funny, with all our lame ass old age, old NHL players all out hurt, we've got some energy and our team speed is much improved.

I still don't like the Joe deal from the point of what we got for him, but the players we got are becoming better and better, and have really had a drastic effect on the team. It hasn't been always numbers-wise, and certainly not as immediate as the Thornton effect on SJ, but its looking better and better as the season goes on.

Stuart has really improved our defense, and fits well with what we have. Primeau has been solid night in and night out, and even scoring some goals for us as of late. You can always rely on him when the game is on the line. Best of all though has been the chemistry that has developed between Stuart and Bergeron.

Anyway...good game so far.

I'd like us to dump Leetch, Murray, Slegr, and find some way to just buyout Zhamnov's useless ass, or otherwise write him off. I'd like us to get whatever we can back for those players, and build on the young, fast nucleus of players we have now...

WTF kind of penalty call was that? Slashing on Thomas for sliding his stick on the ice to block the puck?

😕

Edit:

And that pushing between Gill and Freisen was matching minors?!?!

😕 😕

Do we have the AHL refs tonight?

Man...that actually turned out to be an awesome 3rd period. Washington almost came back...with a incredible Thomas second save after Ovechkin rang one off the post. Couple of things I took from this game...

I  PJ Axelsson. I hope he retires a Bruin. He can shut down some awesome players....he frustrated Jagr all game the other night, and did the same to Ovechkin most of that game.

I am so glad Thomas finally is getting a chance. I'd like to see the B's keep him, and it's fairly certain if they send him back down, he will be gone on waivers. This guy took a huge pay cut to come back here, and he is always smiling. He seems to really inspire the team to play good in front of him. I sort of hope Raycroft and Hannu stay out for awhile, so he can be hung on to. If it comes down to sending him down and losing him on waivers to keep Raycroft, I'd rather they trade Raycroft for the best talent they can, and build around Thomas and Hannu. Boston fans have turned on Raycroft, and he may be done here. I'm sure wherever he goes he'll come back strong if he does get traded.

🙂 Good to see you back Insane3D! B's aren't too far out of a playoff spot right now. Leafs and Habs are in a tailspin... you might just cash in on that

a couple of points
- Axelsson is so underrated!! Always has been imho.
- That Primeau goal was great! 🙂
...
Oilers could have played with some more intensity last night. I felt Morrison held them in there pretty good in the first... too bad for him. His record is 6-2 now though... I'd like to see him become a legitimate starter in the next couple years...

Sorry about my prediction Aquaman... I actually watched some of the Blues / Nucks on commercial breaks etc... damn Blues! Sorry teh Oil didn't help out your cause much...

...and the Oilers fan pulls his hair out as yet again Edmonton sits in 8th in the West...

The Caps ran into a very good team game in the Bruins last night... the Caps had won 4 in a row. I hadn't seen the Caps so confused since very early on in the season... they could hardly get the puck out and when they did, the passes went awry... I know they're bad, but they're not that bad... good job overall by the Bruins. And having a shadow does suck... you have zero room to do anything, much less take a step after receiving the puck if someone even decided to pass to you. AO almost put on his magic in the final minutes again but *someone's* best friend got in the way. 😉

I can't wait to see Crosby vs. AO on Wednesday.

Hey rh71, what were your thoughts on tonight's Alex vs Sid game? It was tough to see Kolzig get rocked. I'm glad that Ovechkin was able to come back after that hit though.

Caught a few highlights from last night's Caps / Pens... not much though.

What I was mainly watching was Oilers / Ducks... man, HUGE win for the Oil!! way to work boys! hang on to that spot!!

Just don't get too comfortable. The Sharks will be coming up soon. We play the Ducks tonight and that should be 2 points for us. 🙂

heh. tell that to Aquaman, whose Canucks I predicted "should" beat the Blues... but they lost to them... twice...

beware of those teams playing loose hockey... they have nothing to lose! 😉

Well, technically, they should have beaten the Blues. That was an embarrasing loss. And then to add insult to injury, they lost the very next game to CBJ. They have been hurt with injuries though. Cloutier is still out and Jovo reinjured his groin. They should be a strong team once they both get back in the line up.

Sorry but I would rather have Auld than Cloutier... Auld is a big goalie and gets in position most of the time, Cloutier is just too inconsistent & hot-headed (he lets opposing players get into his head and throw his game off)

the NHL plate is full once again tonight....

who else loves this game more than ever right now? 🙂

good luck to everyone's team tonight!

Holy crap Oilers picked up Spacek too!! I knew about the Tarnstrom trade but this one just smacked me in the face.

sweet... shoring up the D... hopefully this will help out the often shaky goaltending situation.
