We recently ordered the NHL package, which gives us like 45 additional games per week. It looks like I get to watch every Flyers game now! :D

BTW, the Flyers vs. Avalanche game will be on NBC for some of you. :)

I was never a fan of Emerick's voice. But you're right, they have done well.

Holy cow what a wallopping the Sabres gave the kings tonight, 10-1!
The Canucks also did a nice job of bludgeoning the Isles with an 8-1 win.

Oh my God! Did you guys catch that goal that Ovechkin scored while sliding on the ice on his back? This guy is MVP worthy.

^ ahem it was on his back and he wasn't even looking at the puck when he tweaked the blade for the shot. Unreal.

I miss a game and this happens. No one would happen to have the game captured, would they?

Awesome goal by Ovechkin........ No way Sid the Kid can win the Rookie of the Year unless he gets a similar goal.

Cheers,

Man, the Sabres were pretty bad on the power play tonight, but thanks to great goaltending, and a couple of pretty plays, and good penalty killing, they come away with a solid win on the road in Edmonton.

heh seems like hockey fans from everywhere are linking to it... I thought the Vishnevski hit was big... it got 2000 downloads within 24 hours... this goal... 16000 downloads in 8 hours so far. Every board is going nuts.

BTW, anyone with a somethingawful.com forums account I can borrow just to see what they're saying over there ? Apparently you have to pay for it.

how is Ryan Miller not the goaltender for the USA?! did you see his stop on Hemsky's breakaway?!!

Oilers are slumping at the wrong time. you simply cannot afford to lose many games in their division, or conference for that matter. San Jose is 6 pts back... that's scary knowing what kind of tear they can go on, what with Nabokov and Thornton.

Good question. He's 6-0 against the three teams whose goalie made it ahead of him (I think it's 3-0 against the actual goalies). I can't blame them too much, since Miller's thumb injury left him out for some time, but he deserved it before his injury, and he's playing better after it. In a way, I consider it a gift. I'm glad he'll be well rested for the brutal post-Olympics schedule.

Edit:
I did some quick post-injury calculations. Since coming back, Miller is 7-2 with a 1.55GAA and a .943 SV%

The only game that is currently on TV right now is the Flyers vs. Hurricanes game. The first period of the game was very enjoyable, so I hope the next two are just as entertaining.
