Holy crap Oilers picked up Spacek too!! I knew about the Tarnstrom trade but this one just smacked me in the face.

sweet... shoring up the D... hopefully this will help out the often shaky goaltending situation.

Sissy Spacek? 😀
LOL let's hope not! 🙂

If the B's can hold this 3rd period lead on the Caps and win the game, and Montreal, Toronto, and Atlanta continue losing tonight, the B's could be 2 points out of a playoff spot by tomorrow morning...

I thought for sure Alex O would score on his penatly shot...

B's win again...Montreal, Atlanta, and Toronto lose...in a couple weeks we went from given up for dead to 2 points out of the playoffs...

Sabres played pretty poorly and still won 8-4. I *almost* felt bad for Toronto. What was I thinking? It's Toronto we're talking about here.

frustrating for me to watch, he had so many chances to score.

One thing that kept sticking in my head thru the entire game... those NESN announcers are some of the biggest homers I've seen on Center Ice... and this was true 2-3 years ago when I watched a game then... doesn't sound like the same guys though I'm not sure... but I actually yelled STFU to the screen at one point. 😀 I'm not too upset at the loss as it puts us closer to the #1 pick race but hearing those guys yap just pissed me off to no end.

Yeah it'll be great to see the B's make the 8th playoff spot and see them get swept by the Sens or the 'canes. 😉

Seriously though, I'm happy to see the three former Sharks doing well in Boston.

I agree 100% on the announcers. The new guy they got this year who does the on-ice interviews SUCKS. The game caller...Dale Arnold is one of the most annoying, excitable announcers out there, but Andy Brickley isn't bad.

That was not a particularly good game by the B's either..I think it could have gone either way.

Oh, I'm sure that will happen. While I think we might make the playoffs, I don't see us going anywhere. I'm just happy to see this team finally skating and playing well...the first half of this season made it hard to stay a fan. It's funny...we are due to get Leetch, Murray, and Raycroft back, but personally, I'd prefer it if those guys never came back. When all our veterans are out, we seem to be such a better team. I wish they would write off Zhamnov, trade Murray, and dump Leetch, and get whatever they can for them to build on this young nucleus we have...

Holy, are those seriously worth so much?
with cards these days, they're worth as much as someone is willing to pay for them.

shocking, isn't it?

/lists a few more cards on ebay 😉

Canes add some Weight

Blues continue to clean house...

"I believe I now have as good a chance as any to win a Stanley Cup and there was no way I was going to pass this up."

Sportsnet has learned the Blues have dealt highly-coveted centre Doug Weight to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Weight told Sportsnet he learned of the proposal Sunday night and agreed to waive his no-trade clause on Monday morning.

"I'm very excited to be going to such a great team," Weight said. "I believe I now have as good a chance as any to win a Stanley Cup and there was no way I was going to pass this up."

A source close to the Hurricanes would not confirm who Carolina had to give up in the trade, other than to say a "depth-type roster player, but the Hurricanes did not jeopardize the future to make this deal".

Weight, who served as an assistant captain with the team, was also the Blues' leading scorer with 11 goals and 33 assists.

The move comes a day after St. Louis sent the Blues' second-leading scorer Mike Sillinger to Nashville for Timofei Shishkanov.
er... like Carolina needed to get any better, and St. Louis needed to get any worse! Yikes!

LOLLERSKATES

i just saw this score!!!!!

LMAO!

Ottawa as a team seems to be in shock...
I'm not surprised! I saw interviews with Emery and Spezza tonight and they seemed WAYYYYYYYYYYY too relaxed!!

PWNAGE 😀 lol. sorry Sens fans. 🙂

lol.

Whenever Emery touches the puck you get all these sarcastic yaay's....

😀

From a Boston paper..interesting numbers in the Thornton trade...

The three ex-Sharks -- Sturm, Stuart, and Primeau -- have combined for 23 goals and 43 points since coming to Boston in the Joe Thornton trade. Meanwhile, Jumbo Joe, who was blanked in San Jose's 2-0 loss to Anaheim Thursday night, has eight goals and 33 points in his 23 games with the Sharks. In his 23 games with the Bruins prior to being dealt, he had nine goals and 33 points. Contrary to common perception around the league, his offense has been exactly the same since the day he left.

<-- checks scoreboard... sees Ottawa getting thrashed... sees it's not Hasek in net... sigh of relief. 😀

This game is just flat out pwnage....

5-0 PWN!

:Q

Thomas...44 shots...44 saves...

The B's have now beaten Ottawa three straight games, and handed them their worst home loss of the season...

And it was just a few weeks ago the B's were in the cellar of the eastern conference...
