I hate to say it, but unless Carolina turns things around in a big way, I don't see them avoiding being the 2nd biggest choke in NHL history...

I'm pretty frickin' nervous over here.

I hope we see a good game. That's all I care about. Win or lose, I'm spent anyway. What a run.

Best of luck to both teams.

GO OILERS!!

No doubt. I thought about how weird it would be to see the Oilers skating around the RBC with the Cup... and then thought... maybe they wouldn't even do it?

Home teams are 11-2 in the 7th game of the Cup finals... I guess you'd be hard pressed to find out which teams won it on the road. Could have been ages ago, before highlights ;) :p

IMO, that should have been a penalty shot....

:\

It wasn't because as soon as he touched the puck play had to stop due to the impending penalty.

It doesn't matter IMO, because he covered it in the crease before the play was blown dead...

The league played it safe...

Even Wonkom(sp?) had trouble explaining it...

No defending player, except the goalkeeper, will be permitted to fall on the puck, hold the puck or gather the puck into the body or hands when the puck is within the goal crease.

For infringement of this Rule, play shall immediately be stopped and a penalty shot shall be ordered against the offending Team, but no other penalty shall be given.

They're saying he first touched it in the air before covering it in the crease.

No offense, but bullsh!t. If that tick by another Edmonton player on the shaft as the puck went down was deemed possesion, the playedwould have been blown dead there and Watson wouldn't have motioned for the penalty shot..

I'm a big believer that those types of calls should be left with the officials unless it is grossly wrong...

But, whatever, I doubt we will agree on this...so....

No ref is going to call a penalty shot in the stanley cup finals unless they absolutely dont have a choice, like say on a breakaway with an obvious trip. Either way its too late.
