Ah yes.

Buds & i were out getting more drinks & grub, & then as we were walking back to his place, & we heard the cars honking & the apartment dwellers yelling, so we knew we'd won :D

Only one emoticon needed to sum that up.

:D:D:D:D:D

Okay so maybe five :p

mine was  was a perfect read, grab, and shot. I was hoping the canes would take it all the way, but oh well :) Was a fun game to watch.

The second period was up and down the ice so many times, so many oddman breaks. Like watching NHL Blitz or something.

Controversy erupts!

Beckett Hockey monthly has awarded the Canes the Cup... a little early:

This issue hits newstands at the end of the month :|

hehe, come on Oilers, make 'em eat it! :D
LOL. I'm flaming the editor on the Beckett.com forums. What a n00b. He calls it a "win-win" and is obviously so blinded by his greed that he doesn't give a crap what residual effect this has on current subscribers.

Cheers Sampson.

For the record, even though we are down 3-2 and the Canes have two more chances to win the Cup, I am still glad we didn't have to play the Sabres.

Deep down inside, I thought it might have been the Sabres year if it came down to EDM vs. BUF.

If the Sabres were healthy, they would have won the cup.
The fact that the Sabres had 5 of their top guys totally out of the action, and still brought Carolina all the way to the end, doesn't say much for Carolina.
No offence to the oilers, but I think that if the Sabres would have made it to this series, they would have totally outworked them. But that's all speculation now.

On the upside, the Sabres are a extremely young team with evenly distributed talent, low salaries, and a rock solid work ethic. They are one of the teams to watch next year. Though one of the downsides is that now more teams are going to be paying attention to them and playing more seriously against a group of champion babies on the ice.

I  the new NHL.

I was afraid of the Sabres.

When they are healthy, they are sick. If that makes any sense :D

They were playing damn good even with the majority of their D out of the game and one of the most creative, productive forwards.
Hell, they were bringing up kids from the minors in Rochester, and thoes guys stepped right into playing at a pro level. I have great confidence in our farm team. I get out to rochester to see a bunch of Amercks games during the season too, they are good.

The loss in the conf. finals was a huge let down for Buffalo residents, die-hard hockey fans or not. This city breathes our hockey and football teams, can't say the same for Carolina... hehehe

Go oilers! Time to go get some beers.

I pulled a low-value Jason Ponminville (sp?) card today from the Heroes & Prospects set. It's yours if you want it - PM me if interested. Nice card of him in a Rochester Americans uni.

Peace!
