- Ovechkin and Marc Staal are going to have epic battles just like he and Chara
- think the series will all hinge on which Lundqvist shows up
- what's with Fla fans dressing as empty seats in their first ever game 7 at home right now??? Or maybe they're all still in the bathroom for intermission

With the Sens out I'll have to accept LA as the team I want to Win the Cup. Then I can claim that the Canucks pushed them to the Cup! 😀

That said, my interest in the Playoffs is very low now. I may or may not watch Games from here, just check in to see what's happening mainly.

Don't do that. Sit back, crack open a beer and enjoy some good quality hockey without getting REALLY REALLY pissed off at the Cancuks. It's what I do. All the good without the bad.

This series is going to be insanely close I think. 7 Games is my guess if Holtby and Lundqvist are both on their game. The Rangers are favored to win but the Caps are on a roll, despite their PP suckage. Luckily in the Boston series, Boston's PP sucked too.

Philly should be able to handle NJ, but that depends on Brzgalov.

Landeskog can keep his Calder trophy, Adam Henrique just sent the Devils to the second round.

Exactly how I feel. I can't believe it's been 5 years since NJ was in the Conference Semifinals. 😵

I hope Josefson can return at some point during the series, they'll need all the help they can get.

I wouldn't worry if I was Philly. NJ is good at making mediocre goalies look like Vezina winners.

It will be interesting to see if Travis Zajac can keep a lid on Giroux, if not it will be a short series.

Flyers are going to pwn the Devils even worse than they pwned the Pens.

Blues will sweep the Kings or will go 5 games.

Rangers will take the Caps in 6

Preds will take the Yotes in 6

Didn't do so well in my first round picks.

Went 5/8 with zero correct series length predictions.

Here are my round two predictions.

LA > STL in 7
NSH > PHX in 6
NYR > WSH in 6
PHI > NJD in 6

Was listening to sports talk radio down here and their fans all seem to agree with you. I hope the players do too.

If Brodeur can keep up a high level of play, I think it could be interesting.

The only thing that concerns me is their long layoff.

I’m a firm believer that you don’t want to sit around, that’s why the Bruins stayed hot last year – they played every series to 7 games and never had more than a couple days off.

That might hurt the Flyers IMO, Bryzgolov most of all.

Actually, the Bruins were the first team to win the Cup after playing in more than 1 7Game series in the playoffs. Injuries usually decimate teams that play too long, but big Boston was a combination of lucky and tough. So it can go the other way as well (and almost always says you lose) if playing in too many 7 game series. Odds are slim.

How is the NBA Playoff thread stickied BUT NOT THIS ONE?
Blasphemy.

PM a mod and they'll sticky it. Or post in one of those mod discussion forums. Whatever is the preferred way to contact mods these days.

I forgot it was even a possibility that he'd be back so soon.

Caps have to come to play.... If Holtby is sucking they are done... But I have faith...

Lets Rock the Red

Caps have a pretty decent shot considering how bad the Rangers played during a lot of the Sens series.

Holtby is 2x the 'tender Anderson is

The Rangers offense is anemic, I don't blame them for not paying the price CLB was asking for Nash, but if they don't make the SCF, there are going to be a lot of Ranger fans angry that they didn't get him.

They can get him for less this off season and make another run next year.

Now, if they continually get there and fail as the Caps have been doing - the Rangers fans have reason enough to be pissed. Canuck fans too at this point.

Flyers fans will be pissed as well, as this should be their year. Personally, I think its their year to make the SCF again and lose to the Blues or Preds.

I like how the western conference has 2, 3, 4, and 8, while the east has just the opposite with 1 ,5, 6,7. Leave it up to the rangers to screw up the east.

Anyways, I can see the blues and nashville advancing, along with the rangers, and philly unfortunately. rather see the devils knock philly out, but don't think that'll happen.
