Well all they need is timely goal scoring from Skinner and Staal if the Warden is standing on his head. I never count out teams with good goaltending. And since Ryan Miller is day to day this could be a setup for the perfect storm, i.e. Hurricane.

staal is overplayed lately. since the team is low on skill and hes more or less the only legit first-liner (up until recently his season has been ok) he's getting double shifted a lot, but hes clearly too tired to do much, and at times plays with some desperation.

cole and skinner are probably more reliable, i wish jokinen was having a better season, but i think the injuries hes had and that they keep moving him around on lines has kept him behind.

i figure the sunday game is probably the key for buffalo and carolina, and expect the winner of that to be the team in the playoffs. i have a ticket to the game, but i wont be going, all the fans get so riled up at *each other* that i dont feel like dealing with it.

It'll be awesome if the Canucks win... President's trophy, and they'll be the only team in the west to have clinched a playoff spot at the same time.

Right. My point in that post was that they will have the President's trophy all wrapped up already while no one else in the west will have gotten a spot yet.
I understood what you meant, but it was written in a way that someone not knowing the situation might think they both clinched a playoff spot and clinched the Presidents' Trophy tonight.

canes v islanders today
buffalo v the caps

maybe theres a chance that the canes/sabres game on sunday will have the teams starting 1 point apart.

So the first time since Wednesday night I've been able to stomach the thought of Hockey I turn on the TV and see THIS??? ughhh.

A bunch of penalties, wings down 3 to nuthin, and another goal being denied because homer farted on the goalie again. ughhh.

Yep it's been a rough time for the wings lately but now tied 3-3.

Only the hurricanes: they submitted their roster for the night with a mistake and a "scratched" player was on the bench

That means they actually had committed a penaltybefore the game started

Homer hit him in the head with his elbow. Even with a win today I am not that thrilled that we were at one point down 3-0.

would have been nice if hed done that in regulation!
