Hey assclown, I live in Vancouver, we paid several BILLION dollars for the Olympics. Yeah we were dick wagging. We'd been putting up with the misery of all of the crazy shit that was happening in the years coming up to it.

I live 2 blocks from Rogers Arena, my life was miserably running up to the olympics with all the crazy stuff going on.

This isn't some 10 dollar canes tickets to a worthless team. WAHHHHHHHHH.

Err.... What's your problem? Why did you feel the need to come in here, complain about an innocuous line in a newspaper article, insult people, and bash a hockey team for no particular reason (a team that won that worthless Stanley Cup that everyone seems to care so much about...)? You're acting childish.

It's just curious to me that patriotism can be brought into a league sport. It just seems to irrelevant compared to the product on the ice, that's all.

I don't know how Sabres vs. Canes rivalry turned into 'This is how we do it here in America'.

If we were talking about the Olympics or the WHC, it'd make sense. It's just something that grinds my gears about Americans and you're right, it probably didn't belong in here.

Holy Shit, Ryan Callahan broke his ankle last night blocking a Zdeno Chara shot. No timetable for return. Huge blow to the Rangers.
There is no way in hell I would ever try to block a shot from Chara or Webber. I know it is important but blocking a shot from one of them is like asking to be on the injured reserve list.

I hope the Wings get LA in the first round.

this. i loved that during the all star game chara pulled back a time or two like he would take a slapshot and it looked like just the thought scared the shit out of everyone on the ice

funny guy, that chara?

I fail to see how that is any different than people rooting for team xxx in Canada because they are the only Canadian team left in the playoffs, how is that any different?

Are you kiding? it's a Canadian national fap fest every time two Canadian teams meet in the playoffs.

If two Canadian teams were to meet in the cup final we would never hear the end of how Canada is the center of the hockey universe and we all need to bow down.

Canada is the center of the hockey universe.
The sport means far more to us on average than any other country out there.

And if the NHL wasn't run by retards like Bettman who strive to keep NHL teams in cities where no one cares instead of moving them to places that would actually have fan going to the games, there would be more teams here presently.

The only thing funny would be watching someone (or more than one player) slam Chara's head into a turnbuckle. Yet I digress.

The Flyers are really playing crappy, 4 in a row? They need to pick it up with all that talent or they're gone in the first round. Their PK was sht last night.

Capitals are really hitting their stride, rumor has it that Green will be back tonight! Ovechkin 6th youngest to hit 300G, epic. While he is having an off year, he has tied a career high in game winning goals so the extra gear is still there.

I think the Coyotes will move to Winnipeg where people may actually go to a game!

On Average. Well considering you really only have Hockey and Curling up there, you better be huge hockey fans. In the US hockey has to take place behin Football, Baseball, Basketball, hell, even college sports.

The teams have to go where the money is. Apparentlly hockey teams just weren't important enough for Canadians to open their wallets.

This was what I keep wondering...if hockey teams would do so great in canada, should there just be a grand total of say...8 teams between canada and the US, or simple even fewer teams in the great white north so that the season can be all of 3 weeks long?

not that i entirely disagree about hockey being in places that are just...really weird. raleigh seems to do so so, but there are a great number of people here who are from an area that had a team which explains a good deal of that.

Front page ESPN:

Turco bet $5 with a fan on the game with the Habs!

lmao. Cmon ESPN, that's just stupid.

lmao i think it's hilarious..

also, every time i hear about Centre Bell i get a chub because it's just such an epic place to see a game

what a huge point for the Hawks too... omg

Flames have two massive games left against Canucks and Oilers... but Hawks and Dallas have one more game in hand.. i am liking Dallas' chances of sneaking in... Chicago plays the Wings twice and Dallas plays Colorado twice... :hmm:

i haven't seen the Torres hit yet, i need to get up to date on my replays

I'm sorry, I think you're mistaking Toronto for the rest of Canada.

I'll admit, I like to see two Canadian teams meet in the playoffs because there is a rivalry that kind of transcends other rivalries.

But I certainly don't go running around saying 'In Canada this is how we do things.'

I'm sorry, what? A substantial portion of league revenue is derived from the 6 Canadian teams.

If teams went to where the money is, how come Dallas, Atlanta, Phoenix, Florida amongst others are failing?

of course on ATOT people would rather bicker than talk playoffs, what was i thinking.

that Torres hit was bullshit... i thought he had more respect than that. F you Raffi. i should take a lighter to your brampton batallion autographed jersey card for that bullshit.

i used to like Torres. that was bullshit.

Detroit doesn't even look like they give a shit out there. After Z went down Datsyuk looks like he has to do it by himself.

Yeah the Torres hit was retarded.
And the fact he defended it as being perfectly fine afterwards is just sad.

Was awesome seeing the Oil beat the Canucks back-to-back though :awe:

3 Sharks in the box. This does not look good.

WTF, Emory goes out with smelling salts.

And Perry scores a hat trick.
