Danny Heatley and Zidane Chara should have got suspensions too but the league is in the finest realms of hypocrisy.

Heatly did get suspended.

Against NJ tonight, Chara punches Nick Palmieri in the face with no call. I guess it's not enough having 3 inches and 50 pounds on every other player in the league, he needs to play dirty too.

I hope someone puts him into a turnbuckle some day.

Don't blame the Wings, blame Bettman for reinstating him. I didn't like the move when the Wings got him and I still don't. But he's playing for my team. It's sort of like when Rodger Clemens came over to the Yankees. I know a number of Yankees fans who hated the fact that he was a Yankee, but cheered for him in the playoffs.

I like how people jump on others based on the injury sustained not by how heinous was the crime. There was no way Bertuzzi thought the ensuing melay was going to break Moore's neck. Bertuzzi has been nothing but a upstanding citizen that shies away from all the rough stuff since he's returned.

i really hate that the lack of consistent discipline encourages this mentality. i love hockey and the physicality...but id really like to see dirty play get disciplined properly.

if chara keeps up dirty stuff, hes going to get hit back dirty...its not really entertaining for me to see outright thuggery on the ice, and then to have to see AHLers take the place of the injured and the suspended in order for a club to field a full team.

/did not see that game tonight, just sayin

on a lighter note, the hurricanes won (yay) and buffalo also won (boo)

i want a chad larose hat trick, just because it would be embarrassing as hell to the opposing goalie

/they tried to set him up for the empty netter tonight to make it happen

Caps won a good one against the Flyers in the SO, both starting goalies had a bad night. I'm glad Philly pulled Bobrov, man he looked bad. Of course Boucher choked on the shootout but Semin had a really nice move. Luckily for Philly, they are still 1 point up in a game they should have lost in regulation but saved a point by going to OT. It was a nice comeback but they can't expect to win games in the playoffs going down 3-0 scoring lucky goals (and considering the Caps were missing 3 superstars).

Fuck you!

He sucker punched him in the back of the head while Steve wasn't looking and then rode him into the ice. Did Todd mean to do it? Of course not, accidents happen. I didn't mean to run over your ass with my car either, but it happened - and I should pay the price. Fucking celebs getting away with manslaughter (Braylon Edwards?) and this bullshit is fucking retarded and everyone knows it.

Fuck you!

I'm glad you agree that it was an ACCIDENT. Your words, not mine.

I think that being suspended for a year, plus the International Hockey Federation supporting the NHL ban, plus him knowing that he ended someone's career (as cited by Bettman's comments on the reinstatement) plus the lost wages and any lost endorsement deals either then or now were sufficient for "paying the price".
Fuck you!
I'm rubber, you're glue. Whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you. See? I can digress down to your level.

Did Bertuzzi ever settle with Moore out of court yet? Haven't heard anything recently.

I think I see Holstrom sucker punched to the back of the head and crosschecked to the back 6 times a game. Big deal, Bertuzzi pushed him from behind. Oh, that's never happened before. I've probably looked at that play 50 times and I've never understood the heiness-ness (I know that's not a word) of the act. Bertuzzi gave Moore ample time to turn and face him. He pulled on his arm and jersey two or three times. Maybe if Moore wouldn't have been a typical Colorado Pussy and faced him he wouldn't have gotten hit from behind and maybe if he hadn't have gone into the Colorado Turtle before he hit the ice his neck wouldn't have been in a position to get broken.

See, don't you feel better now that you've dragged me down to your level?

Bullshit on that second goal by the Canucks. But the Wings had their chances. Luongo bailed them out of at least three goals tonight.

Another half assed game by the Wings. Out worked for two periods then decided to show for the 3rd. Get your shit together Wings.

Ya it's frustrating how uninspired they are. When they bring it they are unstoppable, like putting up 4 straight on the pens the other night. Problem is they don't "turn it on" like that very much these days.

Problem is they aren't hungry. Playoff winners are hungry. Unless they get their heads out of their asses before playoffs, they are going to get creamed in the first round.

The goal itself or the penalty that caused the powerplay?

I didn't see the original penalty that caused the power play, but the goal itself was bullshit. Forgot who it was (Probably Drapes out in front of the goal to the right of Howard) but he got tripped right in front of the ref. No call there. Could call goalie interference on the first shot too.

The Wings are like the Lakers. They just need to flip the switch.

I'm expecting something like the one playoff game back in '97 when Darren McCarty lined up across from Claude Lemieux. The two jawwing away and the second that puck touched the ice, the gloves came off and the two were at it.

So the big question for tonight? Will Chara get his head taken off by Montreal?

Nice, I forgot that game was tonight. I heard Max hasn't returned Chara's phone calls. Good for him. Chara's words are empty.

I thought Lemieux turtled on that one and was down on the ice in the fetal position as McCarty administered a beating.

Real men don't blindside people from behind... only sniveling cunts do

Colorado will hate Bertuzzi forever, but it's hard to blame him entirely for the struggle that happened afterward. He's a piece of cowardly shit taking a shot when he knew the guy wasn't looking, but I doubt he thought "I hope I break this guy's neck and end his career". While I'm still not sure he was punished accordingly, I do believe he does truly feel bad about ending a young players career. He's an epic douche, but you can tell he's still human enough to feel bad for what he ended up causing. His punch may not have directly caused the injury, but it started the brawl that did. If he didn't swing it wouldn't have happened, we all know that (including him).
