The Kings though didn't help matters much with their "powerless" powerplays either. If they could just get their PP's half as good as their PK's, they'd have a good chance of making it deep into the playoffs, but with Kompon running things, I don't see that happening. 🙁

I've wanted him gone all season. There has been next to no improvement in the PP area and it's funny when the analysts interview him in the games he looks like a deer in headlights and has no idea what he's doing. Interestingly, they seem to have been getting a little bit better about just throwing the puck in front of the net lately and seeing if someone can pick it up and knock it in as opposed to their usual perimeter cycling, but we're looking at a too little too late situation here. Then there's Doughty. As good a player he may be, I'm convinced you can definitively point to more specific instances where he lost them the game than won; I've about given up on him. They'd really be better off just giving him away for a good scoring winger. The defense would still be plenty intact and his offensive-minded defense just doesn't produce enough anyway.

Perfect example from DD was last night. Almost single handedly lost the game for the Kings. Two short-handed breakaways with one leading to a goal for Dallas on a Kings powerplay... omg I was looking for something to break...

I'm honestly starting to believe that the Kings will not be making the playoffs this year which might be a good thing because DL needs to start making some coaching changes.

I am flying down to California next month to catch a couple Kings games while visiting family, but the way things are going, I may just go to Disneyland instead.

To add: Doughty at least needs to be benched a couple games to wake his A** up!!!

Agree 100%. I don't think it will happen though because they think they need him much more than they actually do. I don't really have any problems with Murray, but I don't think he has the balls to do this. It's really aggravating with how hard a lot of the Kings' "average" players have been working lately too.

And ya, I was ready to throw the tv through the window during the 3rd period last night. That shit was infuriating.

That's ridiculous. I don't care whether there was a forearm or not, Chara damn well knew that was there and what would happen.

On the other hand, I just spent entirely too much for Wings tickets Friday. But I've never had great seats before, so it should be cool.

Bobby Orr had nothing on the greatest comeback in NHL playoff history, ironically against his Bruins.

Still gets me all warm and tingly inside. If you ever think your team is down, remember last May.

Oh hey, nice videos. Now show me the one where the Flyers won the Stanley Cup in your lifetime. You can see Bobby Orr's name on it.

Yeah, I wouldn't say Bobby Orr has nothing on the "greatest" comeback in NHL playoff history.

how great is great?

best ive had for a regular game was student night pricing at the RBC center...like 25 a head for second level behind the goal, not at all bad.

best ive had was 1st level, high, but center ice, for the skills competition this year.

That was one fcked up hit by Chara. Jesus Christ, what was he thinking?

im not sure that he was thinking...pretty unlike him, from what ive seen before. scary hit.

also, im just going to enjoy the irony that the devils, as amazing as they have been, lost to ottawa tonight. never would have guessed...

didnt see the game (watched part of pens/buffalo and avs/wild), what the hell happened? and the panthers beat chicago, another wtf.

/pretty much just happy when anyone in the east loses, at this point.

Ottawa played with that 'Devil may care' style that non-playoff teams loaded with AHL callups tend to display. Also, they've been having scoring problems for quite a few games now, usually they're able to pull it out 2-1 or 3-2 in OT or something, but Ottawa got a fluky goal with 2:00 left and the Devils couldn't tie it.

Refs also took a legit goal away from the Devils on a phantom high stick, but that will happen.

That and Anderson is playing for a contract and wants to impress.

Fifth row, right about the blue line. I don't think I've been lower level before.

Might as well treat yourself once in awhile, right?

nice! hell yeah, why not? i want to get myself and my brother seats by the bench or penalty box for my graduation present next year. That way I will be able to heckle the hurricanes directly.

I'm going to defend Chara. He was merely making a hit, the place was just unfortunate.

it was a bad hit to start with, interference for sure, and right by the benches. i dont think he intentionally hurt the guy, but he did intentionally hit him with a puck nowhere near him

i think the refs call was right, and i wont blame anyone if they suspend him a few games.

BROSSARD, Que. -- Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty suffered a severe concussion and a non-displaced fractured fourth cervical vertebrae in his neck after being hit into a glass partition between the benches by Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, Canadiens coach Jacques Martin said after practice Wednesday.

Wow a fractured vertabrae. I bet he's counting his blessings that he wasn't paralyzed...
