Blech, starting today with the game against the Flyers, Buffalo has 5 games in 8 nights.

Edit: 8, not 7. Saw Toronto as Friday not Saturday. Slightly better.

Not to jinx you, but I think you guys are making the playoffs. I think it's between Carolina, NY, and Toronto, and maybe NJ has a chance.

rangers get the flyers tomorrow, and sabres play the wild

carolina wont play again until wednesday, be interesting to see what happens in the next few days, i expect theyll be fighting to try and get back in the 8th spot by then.
 
Blues have had an interesting season. With Halak out, they played themselves right out of a playoff spot. On the bright side, they may actually finish low enough to retain their 1st round pick this year (top 10).

Definitely looking up in the future for this team (Perron? Backes, Stewart, Tarasenko?, Oshie, Berglund, Shattenkirk, Pietrangelo) but glad this year is about to be put in the books.

Tomorrow we are both Minnesota fans. I won't even bother rooting for the Flyers, they stink. I'm confident the Rangers will go back into their tailspin once they play some quality teams again.

A 3 goal lead blown in the third by the Wings tonight. The effort on this road trip has been questionable at best. Even the two games the RW won they were outworked during those games. If they continue to play like this they won't go far come playoff time. 😡
 
Millbury made an interesting point on HNIC about fighting today. I really dont see the point of having that designated fighter who only plays 2-3minutes a game, and that's only when shit's about to hit the fan.

eh, someone is going to have to manage it. the hurricanes have gleason, who is an alternate with a decent paycheck and gets a decent amount of minutes...they dont want him locked up for 5, and they have harrison, who cant win a fight for his life, but only gets bare minimum pay and they can do without him for 5 minutes a night

seems semi-sensible enough *shrug*

Yeah I've given up on the Sabres failing, and I'm assuming the Rangers will fail. That leaves the Hurricanes and Maple Leafs, and the Devils have a chance if we pull off the miracle. Next six games are a good chance to make up ground. 90 points is still the number we need to hit at this point.

The Rangers absolutely wrecked the Flyers. There are some serious problems in Philly, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear about locker room problems.

Has to be. The team looks awful right now. There was a flu going through the locker room before, but everyone has supposedly recovered.

They looked super sluggish on defense, you can't allow Callahan to get that kind of position every freaking time. It was just a lackluster effort all around and they didn't play defense like they're capable of. Starting to get a little nervous, they have to break out of this slump.

Caps are back in first with huge OT winner by Semin. I can't remember the last time Backstrom and Semin scored in the same game, they are firing on all cylinders, even without Mike Green and their slow start in the first period.

Tonight's battle for first in Tampa is the must see game of the night.

The Kings though didn't help matters much with their "powerless" powerplays either. If they could just get their PP's half as good as their PK's, they'd have a good chance of making it deep into the playoffs, but with Kompon running things, I don't see that happening. 🙁

Yep, that stick save was awesome as well as his 2 saves in OT. Semin's goal around the defender was sweet, I'm still amazed that he's scoring so much. Ovie's 5th straight game with a point, he's stepping it up. Boucher is still crying about the disallowed goal but sometime that's the way the interference calls go. They still had a chance to win the game until the very end, QQ more Boucher.

Heard a stat this morning that 19 of Washington's 37 wins are by 1 point. They are winning close games which really bodes well for their new "defense first" system.
 
Going to the game tomorrow night, and hopefully the game Friday night with a date. Hopefully the Wings suck less.
