Blackhawks are the defending champs. I can't complain too much at the moment. Lots of movement in the offseason thanks to the salary cap. I'll be at a couple of their games this year for sure.

Anyway, the inside scoop on NJ is that their forwards are tremendous, their defense is suspect, and Brodeur is becoming more of a question mark because of his age. They need to dump about $3.5 million in salary to fit under the cap. Don't be surprised to see Zubrus or Salvadore (or both) start the year in the AHL as a result.

yeah, brodeur was showing a little age last season. hopefully, with a record like his, he will call it quits before he starts to really get bad.

Never seems to happen with goalies. Remember how bad Patrik Roy, Ed Belfour, and CuJo were at the end of their careers? Pretty sad, but I believe Brodeur will flame out at some point rather than go gracefully into the night. 🙁
 
Good game by the Sens tonight with only the minimum allowed of regulars in the lineup. Got to watch the kids show what they can do. Was nice to watch a game on TV again. Round Two against the Leafs tonight.
 
canes prospects sucked...but i didnt expect anything really tonight. several veterans were out so the newbies could get a chance to show off since there are a couple of undecided roster spots to be filled before the regular season

Yeah, you really have to give them a couple of games. Devils fans were pretty disappointed with Jacob Josephson's performance today, but it was his first real hockey game in North America.

Belfour and Cujo are not in the same class as Roy or Brodeur. Also, Roy was still pretty good up to the point he retired.

Not sure if Kaberle played or not but a couple of Leaf supporters always said that Kaberle always turned a powerplay into a 4 on 4 because he never shoots the puck....


/never understood the hate for Kaberle, good d-man

Kaberle is only effective with players that he can sync with. I don't see too many of those in TML right now.
 
Interested to see how Turco does behind the hawks D. Everyone except Sopel(bum) is back this year on the D line. The Hawks will make the playoffs, but losing buff, vertsteeg, and some other guys will hurt them.
 
Season needs to start soon. I'm so excited. I hope I'll get to watch more than the 1 game I did in person last year.

Of course come around april I'll be a mess again =\

Thoughts on NHL Gamecenter? Is it worth the cost/does it work as well as mlb.tv
