http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/18/there-is-no-tebowmania-without-von-miller/

Tebow is inspiring the entire team as well as taking media pressure off them. Miller is a rookie, after all, and the kind of attention he'd normally be getting is often stressful for a youngster. When people make big plays, they're crediting the team...it's hard to get too big a head with Tebow around.

Tebow also doesn't deflate the team with stupid turnovers...coupled with his big play ability, he makes them feel like every yard they gain or save is worth the effort, since it actually brings them closer to a win (don't underestimate how powerful that is). Not throwing interceptions >>>>>>>>> good completion percentage but with turnovers. He shouldn't get anywhere near all the credit, but (as should not be surprising for a QB) he's a significant part of why this team is playing to its potential, playing as a team. It sure wasn't happening without him.

To the Broncos, Tebow is a leader, a catalyst, a rock to rally around, a Midas. They know that they are MUCH better with him than they were without him. Winning ugly >>>>>>>> losing pretty. Of course they need to be able to beat strong teams in order to be considered one of the best teams, but that's the thing...without Tebow, we wouldn't even be having that conversation. In only six games, Tebow and his effect on others have helped transform the armpit of the NFL into a playoff contender. That's huge.

How long can it last? How far can it go? Who knows. There's never been a Tebow in this NFL. As many others do, I suppose it will come down to injuries and getting whipped by the likes of the Patriots. But even if they lose the rest of their games this season and he's out of the league next year, he has already greatly exceeded expectations and outperformed his (veteran, expensive) alternative at QB. That's a win in my book.
This is either sarcastic and brilliant or serious and...something. But the fact that I can't tell should tell you something.

Week 12 Comments:

*With Andrew Luck in the bag, it might be time for the Colts to look more at Barkley and see if he might be the better choice and trade down to draft him. It should be interesting in April.

*Rumors are swirling that Manning is more likely than not to retire. Yes, if that happens, I will cry. :(

*I haven't been keeping up with my weekly LOLs(+), but this week's LOLs go to the: Lions, Chargers, and Eagles.

*The AFC is really weak this year. God help them in the Super Bowl.

*Most are speculating that Belichick will run up the score on the Colts. Keep it classy Pats -- save your energy to avoid yet another embarrassing playoff loss instead.

*Suddenly, the Cowboys and Raiders are 7-4 and are trying to hold off the Giants and Broncos, respectively.

(+) Colts get a LOL every week, so I don't need to mention them explicitly

I don't hate tebow. He is a good QB. he is lucky to have a good o-line and d-line.

I do t hink Tebow will be considered a elite level QB though. the kid has the skills and desire to do it.

i think the bears should trade heine to the broncos for him. hell they might go for it. they made stupid decisions in the past about QB trades.

I'm not a "Tebow hater," I just don't understand why he's getting credit for the Broncos' defense.

this. dude is lucky that Broncos can manage D against mediocre teams.

I like that he wins, seriously, and he's done much to prove that he can win, but lets see him put up 24 points

I'm glad the Steelers won and all, but the first half seemed pretty well riddled with silly penalties. Pass Interference really needs some re-thinking, there's got to be some sort of middleground we can reach.

PI does need some reworking.. Should be a 10 or 15 yard penalty and an automatic first down.

This pretty much sums it up:

For what it's worth, linebacker Von Miller, the havoc-wreaking rookie with 10.5 sacks who is among the biggest reasons for Tebow's recent success, was inspired by that quote.

"What he said really stuck with me," said Miller as he walked toward the team bus. "Just having that guy around, it makes us better men. I think he plays for us, and he makes us want to play for him."

Reminds me of Any Given Sunday where Jamie Foxx's character is being all diva and the team doesn't want to play for him. In this case, it's the exact opposite.

I'd love to see them bring back bump and run. I think it'd work out great and wouldn't kill offenses as receivers now are much bigger and more physical than they were when they killed it. I also think it would get rid of the headhunting secondary hits as they can play the receivers straight up.

Wow, that would suck, but he is 35. And that injury....I am not sure if he would be 100% when he came back if ever. Looks like Luck is in the cards.

I like Manning as well, but he should retire. He's young and if he's smart he can have a long, productive career as a coach.

In other news, apparently Suh called Goodell to apologize (ESPN) and might serve a two game suspension. As a Saints fan, I'm glad. I'd rather he not be around to purposefuly injure one of the guys.

He was at the locker room today with his kid:

No comments on how he is doing, though.

I'd hate to see Manning retire so "soon", but I think it's a good idea. He doesn't need the money, and he's not going to win a Super Bowl next year. Serious neck injuries are a BIG deal for quality of life. I'd hate even more for him to come back with subpar awareness and mobility and get knocked out for good.

Quiet night here.

Anyway I agree with Gruden - they are taking away a big part of the game with the hit on a defenseless receiver penalty. So now they have to slow down, let the receiver catch the ball and make a football move before they can hit them? Come on
