9ers best team in the NFC? Not after last nite.

I don't think the 49ers were ever the best in the NFC...

Packer's, obviously.

Then Niners, obviously.

The Niners lost to, perhaps, the best team in the AFC (if Houston can't keep rolling, or unless NE figures out how to play defense), so the defensive struggle on TG doesn't really do anything to hurt the Niners position as 2nd-best in the NFC.

Not by a long shot.

? If you don't see why he is so highly regarded perhaps watch some film of him dominating OL. He is already one of the top 3 DT playing and he has only played a little over 20 NFL games... WHILE the play is going... He really needs to figure out that when the whistle blows the GD play is over. The only thing wrong with his game his HIM.

Top 3? 😵

Uh, yeah, of course he is what's wrong with his play. I'm not talking about the dirty stuff either. Ignoring that he's still middling. Yes, he still makes plays but he also gets washed out a lot. Then when you take into account how much he hurts his team with stupid penalties and I have no idea how you think he's a top 3 DL.

I'd say he has the potential to be, but he is not there right now. So far there's as much film of him being dominated as of him dominating. And let's not forget he plays on a pretty good D-line so its not like he's just out there being triple teamed constantly or anything. Most times he's 1 on 1 against a guard and is nowhere close to as dominant as he's hyped to be.

If you think Suh is usually 1:1, you haven't seen many Lions games. Although I do think he's been hyped to be slightly overrated, even ignoring the extra-curriculars.

Against the 49ers he was pretty much 1 on 1 the whole game and was a non-factor. From ESPN:

Which one is Suh again? Corey Williams, not Ndamukong Suh, was the Detroit defensive tackle posing the most problems. That was the word from a scout I spoke with earlier in the season. It sounded like a contrary opinion, but after charting the 49ers' handling of Suh through the first half of this game, nothing much about him stood out. Of the 28 first-half plays I charted, Suh was not on the field for eight of them. He made one play on the remaining 20 snaps, shedding 49ers guard Adam Snyder to tackle Frank Gore for a short gain. That was it. The 49ers assigned a true double-team to Suh one time in the half. On one play, tight end Delanie Walker surprised Suh with a wham block to free Gore for a 47-yard gain. Walker sealed Suh with a similar block to spring Gore's 55-yard run in the third quarter.
