The second season begins.
All records are 0-0. Yes, you lose and you go home. Win and continue to fight and claw for another day.

Now my predictions:
Texans
Saints
Falcons
Pittsburgh

The Lions held the Saints to 31 points without Delmas, Suh, and Jackson. Delmas is rated the top 10 safety in pass coverage his replacement for that game Chris Harris is 78th best. Fairley went out in that game in the first quarter with Suh serving his suspension. Also, this was the second game where the Lions lost it, 100+ yards in penalties. I think they've learned their lesson.

They might not win, but I'm not so sure about a shoot out that everyone is saying.

Yeah I took the under in the Saints-Lions game. 59.5 is just far too high and the playoffs are a different animal.

KT

I want the Steelers to hit Teblow hard enough and often enough that he actually gets to see Jesus once or twice. He's a douche and his bandwagon douche fans are also douches.

I also really want to see a Lions win just so something decent happens for my beleaguered home state.

Falcons =) they will beat ny Giants! then destroy the girly packers. By girly i mean the linebackers with dreadlocks, then we will destroy the saints, and then finally go thermonuclear on the AFC team in the super bowl and we will win!

Settle down, Beavis.

what packer LB has dreadlocks?

keep dreaming, since the 49ers does not have an offense to compete with the packers nor the saints. they do have a good Defense.

lol, and the packers/saints don't have good defenses, so what's the problem? People assume the 49ers can't score points, yet they average 1 PPG less than teams like PHI, NYG, and average more PPG than PIT, DAL, and others.

They've got an effective ball control game, sure they hit a lot of FGs, but that's because they get into scoring drives so many times.

They shouldn't be favored against GB/NO, but nor should they be discounted/

Ah, I see. Well, just remember, any year could be your year. The Saints sucked for how long? That's why I don't like all of the cockiness around here now. It wasn't that long ago that these shit talkers were wearing bags on their heads. Too bad we can't take game film and find out who they were and ban them from the Dome. 😛

Hah! Since 2006 football has had a quality of unreality to me. The NFL just treats it as an accepted fact now that the Saints are one of the "good teams", and my brain keeps trying reject that. I'm staggered by the turnaround the Saints have made in my time.

I also think something similar is going on in Detroit right now.

Well, if the Falcons make it past the Giants, they cannot do much worse against the Packers than they did last year in the Playoffs. Nowhere to go but up! But we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves, let's start with Matt Ryan getting his first playoff victory out of the way, first.

One of the games where the Steelers collection of dirtbags can actually help the league. :awe:

Smart rebuilding and intelligent managment.

Saints have the best NFL Road record since 2009 - only 6 road losses in last 3 seasons,
plus the one to Seattle last playoff series.
24 -6 over three years.
One road loss in last last two playoff seasons.

Yeah, I don't follow other teams that much so I had to do a complete double-take this year when I looked at stats: "Wait, Detroit is good and the Colts suck?!?"

Yep...Timmy needs to be properly introduced to James Harrison.

I think they could hang with GB, but not the Saints. The Niners can stop just about anything when running on all cylinders, and the GB defense is so hirribly pathetic that it would keep a Niners/Packers game very close.

I think the Saints would roll on them, though. Their D is just good enough to expose the utter mediocrity of Alex Smith (the only problem with the Niners offense, sadly.)

I can't imagine a reality where the phrases "held to" and "31 points" should coexist in one statement as some sort of positive outlook.

:hmm:

Makes me happy that absolutely nobody anywhere is picking the Lions. It's going to be close.

Was just thinking this... the Lions when playing with their heads out of their collective ass they are actually a pretty sound team. If I were a betting man I'd bet the under and can only cross my fingers and hope the front four can get some early pressure on Brees and force him to make some mistakes and perhaps slam him to the ground a few times 😉

Saints average more than 41 points per game at home, both QB's threw for over 5000 yards, it's going to be played in a dome, and both defenses have terrible pass defenses. Should be a shoot out, 59.5 sounds about right.
