Official NFL playoff thread

My predictions:

Bengals squeak out an ugly win over the Texans.
Lions lose to the Saints in a shootout (as often happens when the Saints are playing).
Giants dominate the Falcons, most overrated playoff team of the last few years.
Steelers beat the Tebows convincingly but probably only get one touchdown, lots of field goals. Tebow only accounts for maybe 150 yards combined.

This is what I think will happen as well.

Back when the Chargers had Don Coryell as coach and Dan Fouts as a Quarterback,
they had a 'Point a minute' offense.
Unfortunately it allowed the opponent more ball control time, and the opposing coaches threw their standard
plays away, and went to 'anything mode' to try to keep up by using unexpected plays.

I think the Saints game plan expands and expands that methodology, and ups the defense to clean it up.
Works most of the time, but leaves unpredictable plays open for freak opportunities.

Might be a fun play-off season.

I don't know...I do not think Giants are super bowl bound, but I can see them being a pain in the ass for any team.

On the news tonight, Gregg Williams (Saints Defensive Coach) said that he had some guys who "Couldn't catch a cold buck naked in the rain". :awe:

My Picks:
Houston over Cincinnati
New Orleans over Detroit
Atlanta over NY
Pittsburgh over Denver

keep dreaming, since the 49ers does not have an offense to compete with the packers nor the saints. they do have a good Defense.

The Saints can't play on grass and have a horrible rushing defense. The 49ers could carry out the gameplan the Chiefs used on the Packers, only they'd do it better. /homerism.

Its a long shot, I know. Even Vegas says so.

I'm surprised everyone is picking the Steelers. I certainly want them to win, but man, our team is seriously gimpy right now, even though we have a much better record than Denver.

It's funny to see the AFC North dominating the playoff slots though.

Yep. They are the Ravens of the NFC. They can win against any team and lose against any just as easily. When Eli is on his game that is a very potent offense. And if they are healthy, their pass rush defense is very good too. They are one of the most unpredictable teams in the post season.

Playoffs stats records who won how many matches means nothing. Clean slate. Who performs on the day/night that counts. You got to ask who really wants it
