That's EXACTLY what I mean. I'm sure they were throwing jabs at you thought the whole time. In fun. That's the "rivalry". Sadly, the media makes it out to be some hatred or something.

Now... go to a Brewers Cubs game? That's hatred. You guys can stay the F out of Miller Park. I won't be buying you any beers, that's for sure.

I remember some player for a different NFL team mentioning how Lambeau is a special place to play. He said last time he played there his team lost, but at the end of the game as his team was leaving the field and heading into the tunnel he said the fans were wishing them luck the rest of the season. I'll see if I can dig it up, I can't remember what team or who that player was. All of my experiences at Lambeau have been pretty great (except when I was wet and feezing on a Monday nighter that Green Bay lost to Philly... then a 3+ hour drive home to go to work the next day. Bah.)

I have never been to Philly, but I imagine Lambeau fans are about the opposite of Philly fans. 🙂

ROFLOL!

"Reports say he was wearing a Mark Sanchez jersey and two green disc-shaped sleds were found at the scene."

I nearly did a spit-take at that for some reason. Just perfect addition to the story.

Now we just need someone to photoshop some tire tracks on a Sanchez jersey.

Yeah, I was speaking in jest earlier. It's more of a friendly trash-talk rivalry than anything.

I worked down on the stateline for a few years and the majority of the people were from Illinois and were Bears fans. We'd talk trash all week, but on Monday's we'd talk football first and it was the fan's of whichever team that were more critical about how and why their team sucked that weekend when they'd lose. Being friendly neighbors, the other was always sure to rub it in though. 🙂

On upcoming Packer-Bear game weekends the trash talk gets turned up a few notches. This being an NFC Championship game between the two, it will be the referenced in Packers-Bears rivalry trash talking for years (if not decades) to come. A week from now, one or the other will always have that ace in the hole... "2011 NFC Championship Game" and that's all that will be needed to be said.

And yeah I also agree that the Brewers-Cubs situation is waaaaaay worse. If you think it's bad with Cubs fans at Miller park, catch a game down at Wrigley Field once. Just don't go alone.

COMPLETELY true. That's why I'm nervous as hell. I know so many Bears fans and if GB loses, this will just crush me. It will be their ace up their sleeve until the day I die. Ughhhh!!! This game may just kill me.

Well at least you're not a Ravens fan. We steelers fans can boast the 2010 divisional playoff game, the 2008 AFC championship game, and the 2001 divisional playoff game. SUCK IT BALTIMORE! 😎

The Cubs Brewers thing is ugly. And getting uglier every year it seems. You Cubs fans are just vulgar and vindictive. Horrible. Feel free to come up here and spend more of your money though! 🙂

No, the best thing about that sled story is that they still manage to end it with talk about the championship game and superbowl, cause that's what matters most in a death story.

Guess there should be a lot of jets fan next week, after all if rapistburger makes it to winning another ring then he will have as many as the wannabe supermodel. And that would ruin some of the stock in hairboys greatest of all time discussion.

As far as lambeu, didn't moss talk about the fans giving the team bus the bird along with less than savory chants and stuff as the reason he mooned the stadium. And I recall Dungy being asked about that and saying those thing did occur.

I will probably be forced to be a Jets fan next weekend. I have always hated the Steelers and Roethlisberger allows me to take my hate to a whole new level.

Although the thought of him tying Brady in Super Bowl wins does make me laugh. 😀

I try to just cheer and not heckle, because doing otherwise is rude, especially when I am in your town

Thats all I can ask. I've been to many Brewers/Cubs, and as you know half of Miller Park ends up being Cubs fans so you're forced to sit by some. EVERY time I have, they are foul mouthed, drunk and just vulgar and mean-spirited. And there I sit with my son, 9 years old now (though 7 when he was at his first border game) having to listen to that crap.

I'm predicting a Jets-Packers SB. Both are peaking at the right time. I think Rodgers will blow out Chicago but Jets-Steelers should be a good game though. I think this game will set the record for number of blitzes called in a game.

I'm pulling for whoever comes out of the NFC. The bears were my only team left going in to the playoffs, though I'd also be happy to see Rogers go to the big game and whup ass.

And as long as the Rapist loses, I'll be happy. Hopefully sooner rather than later. :\

It was only a couple years ago when the first 6 seed went all the way, so if both make it this year it's almost assuredly the first time that happened,

It's a respectful rivalry. One that traverses generations. It's not a hatred of the other team, not like Michigan-Ohio State. Or even Yankees-Red Sox. It's more akin to, say, well I can't think of a more respectful rivalry. We've played the most against each other than any two teams have in the entire history of the NFL. We've both won close games, and we've both had blowouts. It's almost surreal.

This morning my boss (A Bears season ticket holder) came to me and was going to offer up his last ticket to the NFC Championship game, but found someone willing to spend $700 for it. Now, tell me of a Red Sox season ticket holder who would give his extra ticket to a Yankee fan. Or a Wolverine who would gladly sit next to a Buckeye. You just don't see it or hear about it.

We shall see on Sunday who walks away with the NFC Championship. But, in my mind, it's not just getting to the Super Bowl. It's winning the Super Bowl. And I think there's enough mental toughness inside the locker room at Lambeau Field that will put them into that game.

And win it. #13 (or one for the middle toe on the left foot for those Steeler's fans out there who can't count past the 10 fingers on their hands)

Not in N.E., Footie is probably hated more now in this area than even Jeter and ARod and seeing Harris slam Dirty Sanchez to the frozen turf a half dozen times would go a long ways in making the Pats loss to the Jesters bearable

How can you hate ARod? Even NYers don't like him much either. It was only last season when he won a championship that he had a decent postseason. Before then he made a name for choking in big moments.

Have you seen 'The Other Guys'?

I am usually pretty drunk, and maybe vulgar, but certainly not mean spirited.

I go to every cubs game assuming we are going to lose

Wait, you mean the Giants didn't win last season????

No I haven't seen the other guys. Link??

I also don't hate Jeter, just his team.

I'll ignore my sarcasm meter for a bit and clarify that I meant the season before last. 😉

And the Red Sox are unloading money on big name free agent as much as the Yankees these days.
