Sorry, I prefer watching defensive battles with lots of sacks, fumbles, and INTs

7-3 can result from a shit ton of dull punts.

That being said, you do realize the Packers have one of the highest rated Ds in the league right?

not as high as the steelers ;)

and i just don't give 2 shits about the dumb ol' packers, the only player I like on the team is Matthews and he's just a Polamalu wannabe anyway

I've been a steelers fan and a bears fan all my life and if it's a bears v steelers SB and my steelers get beat, i can't be too mad because I like the bears too.

If the super bowl is steelers v. green bay and steelers win, I'll be happy, and that's about it. If it's steelers v. green bay and green bay wins you'll never let me hear the end of it... D:

Well you got that part right.
I'm just PRAYING for the W over the bears. it's BEYOND huge around here. This is the definitive nail in the coffin for every Bears vs Packers argument that rages around these parts all year long. Whatever side wins only has to mutter "2011 NFC Championship" and the argument is over.

Ughhhhhhh

I work in IL, there is myself and one other guy I work with that are Packer fans. 80% Bears fans. And some misplaced 49ers fan that doesn't have a whole lot to say about anything. ;) So it'll either be a misreable Monday, or I can quietly go about my business with a smile on my face.

I guess the only thing that would help would be a pack loss in the SB, so I can toss all his SB champs rhetoric in his face.

since I said beginning of year that I doubt we'd make the playoffs and he was talking a super bowl win already

but I'd rather just have the lombardi. would make it #2 for my life, and I can vaguely remember 85, but I still have the posters and a tape of the shuffle

I'll say this, as devastated as I would be about the Packers losing again in the NFC championship game, I'd rather see the Bears win the Superbowl than than the Steelers or Jets! This, coming from a partial owner of the Green Bay Packers :).

In my closet, I still have a Refrigerator Perry sweatshirt that I wore in 1985. My wife tried to get rid of it, and I told her "Absolutely not!" I was a freshman in high school and wore that thing all the time.

I love listening to idiots calling in on talk shows. Some analyst (some with in game experience) are talking about the shift of the jets defense plan for the playoffs. They were surprised that the team was able to develope such a change just as the playoffs began and how successfull it's been so far including who they've played.

Some stiller nutjob then gets online and starts yapping that "big ben won't be affected" because their offense will be able to overcome those schemes. And then continues by saying even if the pressure does start to get through the oline, it won't matter cause "unlike peyton or brady ben is the complete quarterback and will be able to avoid the rush and put the ball on a line to the open reciever".

I only hope to god the idiots making their gameplan feels so confident.

I would certainly rather see the Pack win than the Jets thats for sure.

atleast then we lost to the team that won the SB...whatever consolation that is

yeah I am getting alot of the same. 'we crushed the falcons and you never would have beat them'

alot of them wont even admit that the falcons just looked bad, and dropped ALOT of key passes, even when OPEN.

what's wrong about the big ben comment? I think a few years ago his completion percentage was HIGHER after he had been contacted by a defender than when he hadn't. It's very seldom a single defender takes him down in one hit

Comparing Big Ben to Manning/Brady is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes Big Ben is hard to take down. But because of his tendency to hold on to the ball a little longer and scramble, he has a very high sack rate and Pitt finds themselves in a lot of 3rd and long situations. Manning and Brady's style is to read coverages and defensive schemes pre snap and make adjustments at the line. If Ben learns to read coverages like them then yes he can be much more dangerous. But he is relying a lot on his physical attributes much like how Vick did early in his career.

So no, I would have to disagree that Big Ben is a complete QB as of right now.

Saying big ben will easily beat the jets and solely backing up that claim by stating it's because he is the complete quarterback unlike brady or manning could to most people actually watching the games be somewhat of a sketchy thesis.

There are retarded fans in every team like you should know very well.
I'd much rather have Manning or Brady than Ben. I think the Jets defense will take the pass away and since the running game sucks they'll have to rely on the defense creating turnovers and getting the offense good field position.

You can't just make a blanket statement about which QB you would rather have.

If you plugged Brady or Manning into Pittsburgh's offense they would be terrible. For the steelers, the only QB that could even come close to what Ben does is Rodgers, Vick, and maybe Freeman in the future.

As a steelers fan I would never take Brady or Manning over Ben. They just wouldn't work in our system.

That's what I think about def-special teams in the championship and why I said so as soon as the matches were final.

It's also why I said they key indicator going into the game will be the injury report and act/inact list for the stiiler o-line. Last game they dressed 7 and had 2 go out using the 2 spares for a decent amount before end of the game. Do they go in with the same plane, or do they scrub a dime bacg4pecial teamer to dress an 8th lineman.

A key concept in the last couple of games for the jets is that they've gotten more qb pressure than they have most of the year (the most lacking part of their D thanks in part to a week 1 IR), and many of those instances are with only 3 and 4 man fronts. If they get an entire half of football where the opponent only has 2 players in their natural position along with 2 subs, mr. elusive may not be feeling as such.

Some news on possible tiering of the superbowl. Highest tier to date is 7, with a 1 and 6 team. Assuming at least one of the 6's make it that will push the record up to 8. If both make it, that would then set the record at the max (pending any future playoff expansions) of 12,
