you know what, i hate karl malone, but i think he's just what LA needs. at least don't bring scottie pippen in, i hate that guy even more than malone.

Don't bring in either. I know Pippen is willing to have his salary cut to about 4-6 from his 19 million in Portland, but I don't think Malone will. He's too stubborn. He already wants max salary from the Jazz. WTF is that?

Bring in a point guard. Gilbert Arenas comes to mind. :) Or bring back Van Exel. :)

I think Karl Malone and the Lakers would be a really good thing. Free up some cap space for the Jazz and add a good piece to the puzzle for the Lakers...could you imagine having to face Shaquere and the Male-man in the paint?

The Jazz should throw in Ostertag for free...

Duncan absolutely destroyed any and everyone that guarded him. He is worthy of the back to back MVP award without question.

Anyone that can make Kobe, Fisher, and Phil Jackson cry is worthy of the MVP. ;)

I can see the Lakers beefing up for one final championship run. You'll see pippen or Malone go to LA. Although i heard Malone needs to score like 20points a game to be all time NBA scorer. THey said he won't get points like that on a good team. I think he'd rather have a championship though. EIther Dallas or LA will get Pippen.

Fisher, there's no crying in basketball. Woot!!!!

3 championships, i cant imagine how it must feel to have ur streak end.
It must be a bitch to have to try and win it on talent and not on biased calls by the Refs. Today was a great day for the NBA!

so how'd the refs fix the laker run two years ago?

Hmm, I guess the Lakers can't throw the switch when it's crunch time like they always said they could... Interesting. How'd that 28 point ass kicking taste L.A.? Now if the idiots in that city will just riot the evening will be complete.

If you think about it this is the best thing that could possibly happen. Not only are the lakers out but we won't have to hear from 90% of the laker fans anymore because they'll have to find a new bandwagon to jump on. How sweet it is.

actually i think laker hating is a bigger bandwagon of late.

As a predominantly Laker fan (but a basketball fan overall), I have to hand it to the Spurs. They did what they had to, which is beat the Lakers outright and not have the refs, Shaq, Kobe or anybody else beat them. The Spurs did what they had to which is to speed up the game, get any and all loose balls, not make silly turnovers and make open shots. And they did.

As for the Lakers, a valiant effort from a depleted but gutsy group. Being three-time champions, they did not throw in the towel. In fact, a few better defensive efforts in some of the earlier games and the Horry's three-pointer going in, the series could have a different outlook. It will be interesting to see which players they can get in the offseason. I know Kobe will be back to work after a week or two. What about the other players?

Well, I am watching the postgame coverage on the local ABC affiliate, trying to see all the postgame reactions. Good games from both teams, especially the Spurs.

Yeah, it'd be nice to see David Robinson get one more before he goes.

It looked like Phil Jackson was crying but I can't say for sure. Ask your buddies at worked tommorrow to verify. Talk about total domination. Wow, people are going crazy here in San Antonio. You would think we just won the championship.

Nice one Spurs. :D

Gotta root for the Mavs now!!

They showed a clip of Kobe on ESPN during some break in the Dallas/Sac game.. he looked and sounded like he was gonna lose it.
