Sounds awsome. I'm down.

Jrphoenix, No it doesn't download the others as they aren't ready yet. It is very easy to learn and you can ask people about stuff during the game most good servers everyone is nice and helpful. 1 thing don't push F10 which everyone will tell you to push. It closes the game. I don't remember how many files you need to have downloaded. I know there is already a patch for some anti cheating stuff that was released last night so yo'll have to download that and a few other things I belive. I'm not at home so I can't say how much the entire amount is.

Okay, as of right now, I will not be able to get a server running. All of the servers we have are in full use at the moment, and I don't have access to any more hardware unless I want to buy a rackmountable server to get it running on (I don't see the point in spending that much money). At least one of our other members will have a server up and running soon, and I appreciate him for that. If the time comes where mcrusty can no longer host, I'll check on available resources again to see if I might be able to get something running.

BTW, hosting for me is free so long as I have the hardware to do it with... it's a nice thing.

A little birdy has told me that HL2 will go gold within the next week.

Yup, the rumble is coming guys. I did some checking around at some of the HL/CS sites and found this at csnation.net:

HL2 Gold Rumors
rizzuh @ 3:37 pm pdt - half-life, hl2 & tf2 - 115 comments - hot topic
We at CS-Nation are seeing a large under-current of information that strongly leans toward the possibility of Half-Life 2 going gold very shortly. Information points to an official announcement from VU Games or Valve Software tomorrow, but ? as with all rumors ? our sources could be completely wrong. Rumors usually don't turn out well for us, but at least they allow for hilarious comment threads where everyone flames each other.

Let's get it boiling, boys!

He's pretty reliable. Same bird that told me about D3, if you recall.

In rsponse to the poll:
I already purchased the Bronze edition through Steam, but plan to buy a second copy of HL2 at a B & M and that will definately be a higher version, possibly collector's edition (would prefer to get it on DVD).

Store Bought CE. I could use a new Tee Shirt, and I'm a sucker for the hard media... specially on DVD!

Buying silver package tomorrow (b-day) :p I already downloaded HL2... can you start downloading HL1 source, DofD only after you buy one of the steam pacakages? When you click to play HL2 you get the pre-download window but, when you choose anything else you get a popup browser offering the packages???

Maybe the November 1 date that some sites have posted as the release date are legit. If this game does go gold tomorrow or very soon (warcrow's post)... We should see this game on the shelver very soon!!!

HL2 is the only thing you can download right now (along with CS: Source, that is). HL1: Source and DoD haven't been made available for preload, as from what I understand they are not finished yet.

I have the CE preorder but I think I am gonna cancel it and buy the Sliver off Steam.

I would love to have the actual install media but I am not paying $79 for the DVD version ( you get crap with CE btw )

I'm pretty sure it all goes to valve, thats why vivendi is so oppossed to Steam. This is one of the reasons I bought it via Steam, to support valve.

Silver through Steam here. I couldn't wait to be part of the action (one of my downfalls), and I feel like it was worth paying in advance and having no hard media or manuals, as CS:S has surprised the hell out of me. It's almost gorgeous and fun as hell.

I figured there was no sense in paying $10 less when you can get everything available for just $60. Plus, I really want HL:Source to possibly head back through it. Never finished it all the way through back in the day, so I may take a run at it again in the future when it's released and I've went through HL2.
